Back in 2004, the left continually attack the 'evil' big pharmaceutical companies. Today big pharma is backing the health care bill and below is an article that says big pharma is racing to Mass to help Coakley out. What has changed?

Big Pharma influencing legislation? Why who would ever have thought? As for
"what has changed"?....well nothing...for decades now.

The pharma industry has been writing pharma legislation for a long, long time now. But just so you know, Medicaid part D, one of the biggest frauds in my lifetime, was passed under GOP rule in the House, Senate, and White House.

And finally....Big Pharma did line the pockets of Obama....a lot more than McCain. One of the things that I liked about McCain....he saw what crooks big pharma has evolved into.

Just a note, I believe you intended to write Medicare Part D, not Medicaid.

As for that industry: they're not better, worse, evil or anything else than any other industry that is simply playing the game as it now is constructed in Washington.

That said, I do believe this president said he was going to do things differently on this score -- so just another big, old LIE in Barry's column.

Its the same as tobacco or any other major industry the government wants to regulate, like tobacco. They will support it in hopes of taking some of the teeth out of the regulations, and the massive costs involved in complying with them prevents smaller companies from entering the market, thereby limiting the competition they have to deal with.
