Remember that moon bombing a month ago? I guess those folks at NASA knew what they were looking for.

hey nasa, heres the world's most expensive cookie:

this was still a huge waste of money. I'm all for knowing things, but there has to be a purpose. If there is life out there, I'm only concerned with knowing if we're going to attack, or are being attacked.

We can build a base on the moon if there's enough water ... it means oxygen and rocket fuel.

Exactly. It's a pretty big deal if we are serious about going to Mars and exploring the rest of our solar system.gorocks99 wrote: We can build a base on the moon if there's enough water ... it means oxygen and rocket fuel.

OR we could not worry about it and help pay off our great national debt.tk421 wrote:Exactly. Yeah, because the less than 1% of the budget NASA gets in funding will pay off the national debt. That's what is screwed up with this country. If only we never had NASA, this country wouldn't have any debt at all. Right. :rolleyes:WebFire wrote:OR we could not worry about it and help pay off our great national debt.tk421 wrote:Exactly. Or we could take the spinoffs, create more jobs, and then pay off the national debt.

I understand it's a big deal. How long until they decided to do something about it

I don't know. They had that plan that Bush laid out to go to the moon then Mars, but who knows if Obama and the Democrats will give them the funding.darbypitcher22 wrote: I understand it's a big deal. How long until they decided to do something about it

And where did I say it would pay off the whole debt? :dodgy:tk421 wrote:Yeah, because the less than 1% of the budget NASA gets in funding will pay off the national debt. Then it's pointless. The around 18 Billion NASA gets a year wouldn't even make a dent in the interest payments on our current debt. We get so many benefits from so little money, it'd be a huge mistake to get rid of NASA.WebFire wrote:And where did I say it would pay off the whole debt? :dodgy:tk421 wrote:Yeah, because the less than 1% of the budget NASA gets in funding will pay off the national debt. There are probably many more, not to mention the one used by Americans every day. I'm sure you have a TV?

I'd go for that. I think it would be cool to live on the moon. Cold and Hot, but cool nonetheless.ccrunner609 wrote: Great Now Al Gore can shut up. When we ruin earth we can all move to the moon
