I don't think the kid has anything to do with it. It's the fact that the guy was on a 12 month tour and his woman is knocked up. Unless he had leave at some point, she has some explaining to do. I am sure he had leave. It's a funny pic but anyone with common sense wouldn't make a big deal out of this.
