                                In 1977 of course!

It's not frozen now but there are some huge chunks of ice floating by all the way across.

Here in DC , the Potomac is frozen over.
I can't remember exactly when, but I think it was 93, or 94 when the Scioto River froze over. That was pretty neat.

Thanks.
That last pic looked like an area just below Shadyside looking over the river at rt. 2, and that's why I was asking. But I'm sure that there are many such views lining the river!

I'm not sure what that part of Ohio is called where the bridge from Ashland, Kentucky comes out.CenterBHSFan wrote:Thanks.

It's between South Point and Coal Grove but closer to Coal Grove.

Up in Delavan, Wisconsin they drive a fire truck out onto the edge of the lake to make sure it's safe for cars to drive on it.fish82 wrote:28 of 31 days that January were below zero. They aren't dropping the tires down where there is 3+ ft of water or anything but I still wondered when I witnessed it what would happen if it wasn't frozen enough. I guess they call a tow truck in.

Back in the day, the quickest way from Ohio to Canada was across the lake. Semis would use this route once Lake Erie was ready.Chesapeake wrote:Up in Delavan, Wisconsin they drive a fire truck out onto the edge of the lake to make sure it's safe for cars to drive on it.fish82 wrote:28 of 31 days that January were below zero.
