Breaking news on ESPN.

I'll just say this, people are too sensitive nowadays. Sad that you fire a coach that built your program.

Yeah, USF wouldn't be where they are now without him, IMO.

This is frustrating.

Seems to be a trend in that particular state.

"IF" he punched the kid he should be gone.
I just think SF wanted to go in another direction and like TT they used this as a reason.
These coaches are ruining the careers of good coaches.

I hadn't heard that he allegedly punched the kid, twice, until this morning. Too bad, but if true, can you really expect to keep your job?

Hopefully Mike Leach jumps on this. The Big East could be his ticket to a BCS game.

Funny how ESPN works. Leavitt allegedly hit a player the accusation I do believe is punched him in the face which does actual physical harm and is against the law it is assault. Does ESPN cover that? No they cover their very own employee James and Leach who did no physical harm and nothing illegal and that is the main story.

They should have been focusing on the Leavitt ordeal. SF has been doing an investigation on this for a while.

Is leach a candidate for real here? If so then Leavitt was not fired for mistreating players.

I posted about this a week or so ago. There are allegations against Leavitt which may be true or untrue, but the administration at USF has been ready to move on without him for some time. The thought process is Leavitt was a great coach in starting the program but he is not the guy to take them to the next level. When you allegations of player abuse come up, it gives them reason to get rid of the guy.

I am hearing Leach but another name to keep an eye on is Tommy Tubberville. He wants to get back into coaching and when his name was brought up for the ND, UC, and UL jobs he stated he was interested but wanted to stay in the South.

I almost wonder if administrations are setting up Leach and Leavitt just to fire them with cause.

"if" he punched a kid in the face, then I can completely understand this.

I thought Leavitt was a real passionate guy that seemed to win a decent amount of football games. Didn't have have USF at #2 in the country(or the BCS or something) a couple of years ago?
