I know he is a Rhodes Scholar and hasn't lost a game in which he has started since 8th grade, but Alabama's QB is pretty average at best.

6 of 11 (last I knew) while being bailed out by at least 2 phantom pass interference calls which were terrible passes. I told my mom that she could have been the quarterback for the Tide.

Do you think McElroy will start a game in the NFL?? If not, I think Krenzel was better.

Maybe I misunderstood the title, but I thought he was saying that McElroy was the worst QB to win a NC.

I simply said that Craig Krenzel was worse.

He was a great game manager, however, and I'll give him that. I love Krenz.

Well, considering this is McElroy's first season and he played a very solid season, it's very possible that he starts more than 3 games in the NFL.

And what do NFL starts have to do with National Championships? Lol.

Oh... Nothing.

^^Gotcha....I'll take Krenzel over McElroy though :) The big play against Purdue that year gives him a slight edge over McElroy.

Most of the QB's were actually very good in college, even Heupel.

Mauk, Flynn, McElroy, and Krenzel are the ones that were the worst when it came to actual quarterback skills.

DaBrowns-That wasn't my point. He omitted Oklahoma (and Heupel) from the list of BCS champions and their starting QB's.

Yeah McElroy's performance tonight was pretty bad, I was comparing it to Roethlisberger's performance in Super Bowl XL.

No, I know. I was just making sure to include him in there just for those people who don't read the entire post and didn't see him in yours. :D

McElroy's performance wasn't bad. It was actually very good. The ony chance Texas had in this game once McCoy went down was to get some cheap turnovers. McElroy didn't have to win the game, he had to play to not lose the game and he did that well.

Found out this morning he was playing with two cracked ribs he suffered during the SEC Championship game. Explains some of his struggles.

I agree completely dynasty that has been his goal all year not to be flashy and showy but to not turn the ball over...and play good enough to win the game.

^This...Heupel was running Mike Leach's offense and had the weeniest arm in the world. He had the smarts and could make the reads but to me, he lacked the most QB skills.

Krenz lead the Bucks in rushing in the MNC game and made some big plays.

If you're saying he's average because he didn't have to throw the ball, when you have a stable of backs like that you really don't have to

I am not a big fan of Krenzel, but the guy did start and win in the NFL.He must have had some skills.
