It seemed that this summer didn't go as planned. I didn't get everything I want to accomplish, traveled less this summer than planned. This summer was great weather but shit happen and nothing got done.
How was your summer?

The summer that ended a month and a half ago? It wasn't bad I guess.

...only thing that I didn't do was play more golf. The wife and I did some traveling, went to concerts, enjoyed family & friends but the golf clubs didn't get used enough.

Fall Equinox yes, but weather wise, summer didn't end until third week in October.

A lot of weddings. The entire summer it felt like I was on somebody else's schedule. There were a couple weekends where I had some freedom to do whatever the fuck I would like. Overall had a fun summer though. Spent a ton of cash for bachelor parties and weddings, but I guess it's better to have friends than no friends.

Summer was great, traveled quite a bit, did a shit ton of cycling. Didn't hike & camp as much i usually do, would have liked to have done more of that.

I'm to the point where weddings actually piss me off.

At my age, I'm saying that you might want to re-think this.

Same, I tried to institute a rule. Only the absolutest closest friends/families. And absolutely fucking no weddings on Memorial Day/Labor Day. Those are my 3 days weekends you fucks.

I️ hate bachelor party/ weddings on major holiday weekends.

My wedding will be Presidents’ Day which is a 3 day wknd but I️ don’t think for a lot of people so hopefully people won’t be too upset.

Agreed, it should just be a law. Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day are off limits for scheduling things like that.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm over Bachelor parties in general. I'm just not the party animal I used to be. Spending a weekend drinking all day and acting like an asshole just doesn't appeal to me anymore.

That moment when you read something and realize it basically describes you during the summer.

I don't mind them if you can travel back home sunday and then you have the monday to recover/get your life together. Also, I feel like a decent amount of people get off for president's day.

Yeah that’s basically all I️ do. Drink Friday night. Drink all day Saturday. Recoup and go out all night Saturday. Then drink for nfl games Sunday.

Now I️ will say, I️ used to be able to stay out til 2-4am. Can’t do that anymore.

Yeah i have been slowing down, but I still enjoy going out and drinking with friends. Whether it is day drinking or shift it to meeting at night. My style has changed the older I get too. Typically every week my drinking is done on Saturday. It doesn't necessarily mean I go bachelor style every Saturday taking shots, but a good time is normally had. Other than a few nights (i.e. new year), I can't remember the last time I have made it to 2-4 AM, nor do I have that much of a desire anymore. If we are day drinking, there is no point.

I don't really see that changing if/until I have any kids or most of my friends start having them. Until then, I am going to enjoy my time.

Getting old sucks, just can't do it anymore. I can't even drink enough to get hungover anymore. Alcohol makes me so tired that I end up passing out about 2-3 hours after I've started drinking. Amount I drink in general has plummeted hard the past 16 months, and that's a good thing.

I struggle with the "staying up" part, too. Most of the time, I'm out by midnight or 1 a.m. And if it's day-drinking like this coming Saturday will be with OSU playing at noon, things start getting dicey around 8 p.m. With how there are a lot of good match-ups all day Saturday, that could be a problem...
