Got a 5 quart pressure cooker for Christmas. Problem is I am getting mixed answers on how to use it.
So does anyone on here have experience using a pressure cooker? I really want to try it out and make some fried chicken.

Pressure cookers scare me. I'm afraid they'll explode.

You can make fried chicken in a frying pan. A pressure cooker is not a frying pan.

Unless it is a pressure fryer cooker you are in for disaster.

Never thought anything tasted good made in a pressure cooker. Re-gift it.

a pressure cooker should be used for things that should be braised.... but the pressure cooker will do it much faster.

How do you cook "fried" chicken in a pressure cooker. I thought a pressure cooker worked by steam...Free_is_better wrote: Got a 5 quart pressure cooker for Christmas. Problem is I am getting mixed answers on how to use it.

Unless i am wrong this sounds like it could be very dangerous....

Not sure that's why I was asking. I heard from someone that fried chicken is the best in a pressure cooker. Maybe I misunderstood them.Dr Jones wrote:How do you cook "fried" chicken in a pressure cooker. It sounds like I should just ask for a gift reciept and get something else.
