I can't go through watching 150+ games again, just to be let down. This feels like the Cavs for me, where I'll watch when I can, but waiting until the playoffs to really get invested.
I'm in a funk. So disappointed. The game ended and my wife turned to me and just said, "I'm sorry."
I said, "It's sports. This is what happens. This is why we went to the World Series last year. This is why I went to Game 7. Because no matter how good you are and you think, 'they'll be back next year', there are no guarantees."
So yes, they should be best in the division again next year. But injuries happen. This window should be open for a little bit. Pieces may change but Kluber, Bauer and Cookie are all signed through 2020 at least. I think we have club option on Kluber for 21. Salazar is signed through that time too. Is he a starter for us long term? He has the stuff to be a great closer.
Frankie through 22.
Ramirez through 22.
Team option on EE thru 20 (but he's 34...might be garbage by then)
Kipnis through 20- can he stay healthy for us?
So we have a core. We have one more year of Miller. I doubt we resign him after that.
Santana is FA and going to be 32 in April.
Bruce is a FA.
We have an 11M option on Brantley.
Will be an interesting offseason for sure.
