We all have had that one item or many items as our lives move forward we just couldn't let go of.... But
Early in our marriage I had a 1971 Dodge Charger, remodeling our first home, first kid on the way, responsibilities.
We needed something more family friendly.... It that go ... Replaced with a Audi Fox
We are down sizing now and more and more item with memories, emotional ties and just cool stuff has to go...

Books. Every book I buy or had given to me, outside of elementary books, I keep. I've got books on religion/spirituality, some architecture books, books about trains, sci-fi, horror, classics, fanfiction,auto/biographies, recipe books, books on fashion history, trade/merchant books, history books and on and on and on. Literally a "library" of books in my house - a whole room for nothing but shelving and books.

I have a stuffed Pixie mouse (from Pixie, Dixie and Jinx) that I've had since I was 2, and a Mr. Ed talking-string hand pupped from first grade. They have too much wear to be very collectable, but they stay with me no matter what, even if it's in the back of the closet
I'm sure they talk to each other at times, wondering when the younger version of me will show up once again to play with them.

Understood, you had your priorities and did what had to be done at the time. But now you're at the age where you can have that 1971 Charger again, or maybe a newer model. Have you made plans to acquire yet?

A man after my own heart! My wife knows I'm not giving up my books.
In my case, however, I am particularly fond of the books from my youth. Quite a few of them were given by my parents as early as age 3 up to first grade. I still have the first Bible they gave me, plus all of the books from when they enrolled me in a book club during elementary school. I even have a few textbooks from high school, plus about ten of the 1962 Dick and Jane readers I remember from first grade on. They could fill a room if they were all in one room.
No, no - those stay with me to the end.

I'm also a fan of keeping books. When we build in a few years I plan on having a wall full of built-ins in my office area for my growing library.

DVDs... I really should just sell them and get rid of them. I have 100s of them that are never watched due to Netflix/Hulu.

*ahem!* Correction: woman
I'll let you slide this one time as my name definitely doesn't lend itself to a specific gender. :RpS_lol:

I don't hang on to much. I have a couple of crew neck sweatshirts of various sports teams that my grandpa used to wear (I have a picture of him holding me as a baby in one) that I also wear often now. I don't plan on getting rid of them until they fall apart.

As a kid, I used to save cool clothing tags. No freaking clue why... but I did.
Now... Can't think of much besides clothes, which is retarded.

A watch.
It's way too flashy for me, so I rarely wear it, but it's a REALLY nice, well-made watch, and it was the prize from the first time I ever ranked in an affiliate marketing launch contest. I can't bring myself to part with it.
