Pretty fascinating how badly Russia has Caracas over the barrel with their loan situation. Russia essentially now owns 13% of the country's exports because only the Kremlin will keep giving it cash, and it's only doing so in exchange for oil and stakes in their major energy assets.
It's like exactly what happens when you rack up gambling debts to Tony Soprano.
It's been Russia's MO in Eastern Europe for a while, but pretty stunning to see them able to pull it off across the world. They're going to own that godforsaken country by the time this crisis runs its course.
