KEEP WINNING DAMN SERIES
3 seven o'clockers in a row. Clevinger, Carrasco (vs Sale), and then Bauer.

Damn Royals are playing good baseball. We need to keep the pedal down.

....continuing the discussion from the ChiSox thread on the trade to bring back Joe Smith....
Perfect!...We needed a third dependable reliever out of the pen and we got just that. None of the prospects dealt were in the top 30.

Gonna need it.
Absolutely brutal schedule the next month... 14 games against the BoSox and Yanks....plus the Rockies, plus 6 crucial games against the Royals.

Serious question...what do you guys hate about Shaw and Goody? Both are having better years across the board, and in Shaw's case, it's 3 years running now.
I like the trade, because Goody in the playoffs is unproven and it gives us a different look. If a lefty wasn't attainable, a side-armer is the next best.

I see the stats on both. I think I get where you are going with this. That they aren't as bad as what some of us think.
I will say that I don't have much confidence in either when they come in.

I'd be even more curious to see what their numbers would be if Tito never used them for a 2nd inning. Point being, as fans, we get way too emotional. Joe Smith simply isn't a better option than Bryan Shaw. Argument is there for Goody being inexperienced (though he went half a damn year striking out a ton and allowing ZERO earned runs.BRF;1864793 wrote:I see the stats on both. We just don't like Shaw cause when he implodes, it's for a big inning and can last 10 days (4-5 outings). But when he is right, he goes 1-1.5 months of 1 run ball.

Why can't Urshela play everyday? Would be 0-0 with him in there.

Unreal--shades of 2015 J-Ram out in the field...even though he struggled to throw strikes, he deserved a better defensive effort tonight.

So much for the 6 man rotation--it's Kluber, Carrasco, Salazar and Bauer--and hopefully Tomlin will get healthy quickly.

Clevinger is still learning. You are going to get some great outings, and your gonna get some real duds too. Tonight was a dud. Hopefully Salazar has learned his lessons, because we are going to need him to be the #3.

Regarding the trade deadline, after listening to Antonetti's press conference, it sounds like they are taking a bit of a gamble, rolling the dice that Salazar has righted himself. Antonetti made a comment to the effect of "part of our decision was based on Danny's last two outings" (not verbatim). If that's the case, they are taking a big chance on a guy who has basically sucked for a year.HitsRus;1864772 wrote:....continuing the discussion from the ChiSox thread on the trade to bring back Joe Smith....

Ugly one last night. Back at it tonight vs Sale, who we own in his career. He's 5-7 lifetime vs the Tribe with an ERA 4.41.

runners at 1st and 2nd, nobody out, and JRam bunts back to Sale to get the force at 3rd...if Tito called for that bunt, he should be shot
