My buddies and I do a weekend good trip ever year, and this year we're going to Columbus so I figured I'd hit up the OC for some course recommendations.

Generally we like to play nice courses less than $100 that can be played around 6500 yards. Anywhere within 30-40 minutes of downtown C-bus is good with us, we don't care to drive a little for a good course.

Golf Club of Dublin
Glenross - Delaware
Northstar - Sunbury
Bent Tree - Sunbury
Delaware Golf Club
New Albany Links
Royal American - Galena
Blackhawk - Galena
Clover Valley - Johnstown
Darby Creek - Marysville

Those are some of the better public courses on the northern side of downtown. Most will run you $30-$80(GCD is the most expensive).

We have some great private courses, just need a hook up to get out.

...it's been years since I played it but there was a course south of Columbus (Lockbourne) called Foxfire that was pretty good.

Yes. They have 2 courses, The Player's Club and Foxfire. The Player's Club is the better of the 2 and definitely a "must play" for Columbus. The Foxfire course is not worth playing, but absolutely The Player's Club is.

Longaberger, now The Virtues, is another must play. It's a hike from Columbus, but absolutely worth it.

I've been away from Columbus for a long time. But I always loved Granville Golf Club just outside of Newark. Beautiful course and - at least it used to be - reasonably priced.

Denison recently bought it and I have heard is putting some decent money into. I've never been out there, but had always heard good things.

Played Tartan Fields in Dublin last month, but I think it is private. A lot of heather, you can donate a number of golf balls.

What does everyone think of Champions GC on Westerville Rd? I only played there once but liked the course.

I don't like it because I always play like shit there. But it's a good one. Owned by Columbus Parks and Rec. They probably put all their money and effort into it as well.

I love Longaberger (now Virtues). My buddies always do a boys' weekend each year and play there and Eaglesticks in Zanesville which is another great public course.

Eaglesticks is a nice track. I haven't played it in like 10 years, and I'm sure it hasn't gotten any easier (a lot of my lost balls are still there) :)

Yup. Those are just such a hike for me to get out to since I live in Delaware.

I grew up a few miles from Longaberger GC. It was a huge deal when they put that course in. I hate the new name, it sounds like a rehab facility, but it's an awesome course.

Thank you for the recommendations! I appreciate all of the other recommendations as well.

I think we're doing Golf Club of Dublin for sure and not sure what else. I sent all of the courses on here for my buddy to pick since I haven't had time to check them out. Looking forward to playing some new courses.
