A live Passion Play? Like Oberammagau? Sounds interesting.

Hopefully only having one eye does not take away from the experience.

If I wear jean, boots and a double pocket button shirt, no hat and the wife leaves me alone I'm sure to get hit on by the ladies getting off the tour bus.

While in Lancaster, PA you have to get reservations for the Catacombs dining at Bube's Restaurant in Mount Joy. You will spend over $50/person but it is WELL worth it.
Take the tour of the place, its history with the underground railroad, and have a great dinner underground in the Catacombs with serving wenches dressed up like Medieval times.
One of the most memorable single dinner places I have ever ate at. It is only about 15-20 minutes from Lancaster.
They have a biergarden, an upstairs restaurant, etc, but the Catacombs is the place to go (they do need reservations for the Catacombs, don't need it for upstairs restaurant).

Nice, I plan on taking the wife over there for a weekend this summer really just so she can experience the Catacombs. I have eaten there twice on past work trips.Belly35;1860700 wrote:Thanks....dinner for 6 reservations

We have family that lives in Lancaster, so I've been there several times but not in the last decade or so. Lots of Amish there.

Jmog ... Great call.... Bubesbrewery Catacombs was a great place to finish off a great weekend.... The food was wonderful, service was a little slow but I understood why. Delivering that food up and down those stair is a problem. But the experience was perfect. The cost was ???but the wife and I enjoyed it and that all that matters.jmog;1860649 wrote:While in Lancaster, PA you have to get reservations for the Catacombs dining at Bube's Restaurant in Mount Joy. Yeah, its not cheap, easily more than $50/person once drinks/dessert are purchases, it not closer to $75.Belly35;1861365 wrote:Yep!

However, it is just a vastly different place to eat and an experience...and the food is good too.
Eating in a Catacombs 4 stories underground that used to be part of the Underground Railroad is worth the experience.

Well damn I wish I saw this sooner. I live 20 min from lancaster. Bubes is absolutely excellent. My buddy had his wedding there a year ago. I would have told you to stop by the jigger shop for desert.

I would have definitely grabbed a beer with you. I usually run to lancaster every few weeks to get eggs for the bakery from an Amish guy. It's a pretty nice areaBelly35;1861391 wrote:We stayed at Double Tree 3 days,, road scooter in Strauburg Scooters , it would have been nice to meet up with you .. could of had a cold on at Fireside grill
