I had no idea this was even up for vote, but they officially voted for it. Does FIBA actually think this would level the playing field LOL? I think USA could go 20 lineups deep, before it gets even competitive. Hell it could be USA vs the World and I can even think of a legitimate starting 3 world that would give the US fits. You would have Giannis and then who?
Edit: Giannis, Marc Gasol, and Towns (apparently he reps Dominican Republic) is the best lineup I can think of.

Towns, Wiggins, Murray, Mudiay, Horford, Giannis, Gobert, Schroeder, Skal, Porzingis, Vucevic, Kanter, Len, Rubio, Gasol Bros, Dragic, Dieng, Clarkson, Gortat and many others. They have a ton of big men but would struggle in the back court.

This is actually the only way the world can compete. most countries can put 3 guys on the court. Its when they have to put 4 and 5 out there where we kill them.
Is the IOC looking for ways to screw the US?

What are you talking about? My post insinuated that the rest of the world has a better chance of beating USA with 3 players not 5like_that;1858092 wrote:So you don't have an answer? Got it.

And I'm asking which country's 3 man lineup would beat the USA or give them trouble.Spock;1858098 wrote:What are you talking about? My post insinuated that the rest of the world has a better chance of beating USA with 3 players not 5

Westbrook/Butler/George
Kyrie/Davis/Cousins

If the world had a great guard, a team of Towns, Giannis and someone could be right up there. With 3 players, the dynamic of how they play together and who can do multiple things against multiple players would matter most.

They would be tough, but there isn't a world team. There is no country that can put up a competitive lineup. I think 3v3 makes it even easier for the USA, especially with the amount of players they have that can go ISO.Azubuike24;1858152 wrote:If the world had a great guard, a team of Towns, Giannis and someone could be right up there. 3 on 3 is hands down an easier road for the US. I don't know how they will do the teams, I'm sure it won't be any one from the actual team. But take the USA "B" team and it would probably still wins a medal. So 3 dudes from that squad is going to be fine in a 3 on 3 comp.
