Do you now have a better life (age or time period) than your parents at the same time period in their life and will your future be better?

My life and future is 1000 times better than my mom and I had growing up.
My girls had a much better life, living enviroment, oppurtities and their needs/wants provided. my wife and i retirement will be much better than my mom and my wife father was. we have been blessed.

Financially - Yes.
Debt - Probably No.
Happiness - Probably Not.

What do you mean?

Financially? Yes, a lot better than my parents were at my age.

Anything else? I'd say probably about the same.

Future - who knows. I would like to think since I'm better off financially than they were now that I will be when I'm their current age. But a lot can change in 30 years.

With my father being a farmer/fur buyer/aluminum siding installer and my mom being a housewife, I'd say I have it much better (financially) than they did. I don't have biological kids but I'd be skeptical that my girlfriend's sons ever have it better financially than I do.

Yes. There are so many things now to make life easier and more enjoyable than were available when my parents were younger.

Currently- Easily.
Retirement- Should be, as long as the mutual funds don't tank.

At my age, my mom just got divorced from a bad 10 yr marriage to my dad, and was single mother of a 2 yr old. Yeah I'm doing better.

Financially no. Otherwise, I can't say. My parents always seemed relatively happy despite the trials and tribulations normal to any family. I'm fairly happy myself. So I'd say comparable. My father was in a high paying career. I knew the career path I have chosen would not pay as well, so I don't consider my being not as well off financially as an unfortunate thing - just a fact.

Compared to my dad, about the same. Compared to Mom, I definitely have it better. She broke her leg badly not long after she retired, and was never the same after that, always in pain, always had trouble walking.

Financially? Probably not. I think my dad was a partner at his firm at age 32. It was right around then.

Future? Probably. Inheritance and money out away already lead to more for retirement.

Happiness? I'm pretty damn happy. But so we're my parents

Time period? My parents loved the 70s/80s. I hate the social media aspect of people these days (yes, I realize I'm positing on a forum).

I'd be more than welcome to manage your portfolio sleeper, but you wouldn't meet my minimums.

As diversified as I am in them, if my wealth fails, then we as a nation will have a large problem.

Hmm, when my dad was my age, I was 18, an only child, fairly self absorbed and in college, so i really don't know how happy he was. My mom was unhappy with where they were and she was going back to school to get her bachelor's degree.

I have a 4 year old and a 2 year old so I'm definitely at a different place than they were. I'm better off financially, but i also have more responsibilities and more debt. I have a 19 year old daughter who is a sophomore in college and I'm paying for half of that. My parents did not, and could not, pay for my college. My wife only works part time (her choice, not mine) and i feel like i have a lot more financial responsibility than he did. He never really cared about money. He also retired with a pension, military retirement and ssn so he didn't have to worry about it.

I can't say that I'm happier.

What's the minimum to buy Rutger's season tickets? $20?

Lol, you'd be surprised how much money some of those idiots would spend on season tickets to Rutgers athletics.

Parents came to move me out of college, they parked their van outside my place in a parking lot. Tow truck came and parked behind my parents van and only moved unless we gave them $50 lol
