Not a great start to Scott Feldman's career in Cincinnati. Leadoff HR to start the season. Reds trail 2-0 already.

Feldman doesn't seem to have an "out pitch". First 2 batters are down 0-2 then 3 balls the HR and single on full counts. HRs in each of the first 2 innings.

We'll soon be seeing the bottom tier of the Reds bullpen with Feldman well over 40 pitches in the first 2 innings.

Did the Reds sell all the tickets for this opener?

Great base-running by Cozart to beat the throw to 3rd on the bunt to load the bases with none out.

Next two batters make 3 outs! At least one was a SF for one run net from the threat manufactured by the bottom 3 in the order.mhs95_06;1845513 wrote:Great base-running by Cozart to beat the throw to 3rd on the bunt to load the bases with none out.

Pretty sure Reds always sell out the opener, but I can't imagine it has much to do with the team on the field.

Reds load the bases again in the 3rd, this time with one out, and get no runs due to the failure of the 7th hitter and the 8th hitter couldn't pick him up. So only one run in two innings with the bases loaded with one out, and with none out!

I thought that and that's why I figured they threw Feldman today, to save a pitcher the fans might rather see to attract more fans to a non-sellout. However I see a lot of empty seats.Azubuike24;1845516 wrote:Pretty sure Reds always sell out the opener, but I can't imagine it has much to do with the team on the field.

Peraza hits well except when there are runners in scoring position! Maybe he should hit in the #1 spot and Billy 2nd to bunt whenever Peraza gets on with less than 2 out.

The Reds are not that smart.mhs95_06;1845524 wrote:I thought that and that's why I figured they threw Feldman today, to save a pitcher the fans might rather see to attract more fans to a non-sellout. However I see a lot of empty seats.

Reds win. Votto with a HR and Brandon Finnegan goes 7 scoreless, just 1 hit, and 9 k's.

Reds manager Price actually mentioned "rally killing HRs" in his post game comments in regard to Votto's lead-off HR in the 7th to give the Reds a 1-0 lead.

Lorenzen goes yard in a PH appearance because the Reds have basically no bench. But, he absolutely mashed it.

Reds win. 2/3 series win.
Bullpen has been lights out this series. No chance it continues but nice to see after how trash it was last year.
5 innings no hits today by the bullpen.

Cody Reed gets the win but walks 4 in 2 innings. Really wish he would start.
