We have a thread for what the last restaurant you ate at was, so that made me wonder:

If you're going out and planning to grab dinner somewhere (and have time to do more than grab a burger or something like that), what is your preference?

For me, Mexican gets the nod a lot of times, just because those places are everywhere. Steak, seafood and Italian also are good choices when possible.

I am a bar and grill type of gal. I like some chains, but we usually end up at locally owned establishments. I love a good hole in the wall.

Mexican probably. True Italian next (or not just pizza/pasta options).

We have a restaurant in Raleigh that has a bunch of stuff wood fired, no particular style...but all so good. Love wood fired food.

Korean or Japanese BBQ....

Fuck, I am craving that now. DC doesn't have a legitimate Korean of Japanese BBQ spot. There was a Japanese BBQ place I went to in East Village I believe. We were the only white people in there and it was fantastic.

Make the trip up to Rockville, MD. Moa Korean and Iron Age on the Pike are pretty good. There is also a good handful of Thai and Vietnamese places up here.

For me, a hold in the wall that serves great burgers and beers.
The old Quarry House in Silver Spring, MD was my go to place.

Have a fantastic Laotian restaurant in Raleigh. I've had others that aren't great, so I won't say that style. But yeah, the best Asian food is tough to beat. It's just hard to find top notch.

When I lived in California, there was an excellent Thai restaurant in Petaluma that I dearly loved. Moved back home to Ohio and in my area there isn't any Thai places whatsoever.
So... Thai.

Sports Bar or Steakhouse

I don't get Italian much because it's not convenient but I would if it was.

FUN FACT: Going for Italian tonight, but from the menu, it's mainly pizza/pasta. Still, better than anything truly local, so I'll enjoy!

Lofl I went to a strip club once that had a buffet. It looked like it was all pot luck. I wasn't eating that shot.
