Yup. This is why I lean more libertarian by the day. Both parties are the biggest fucking hypocrites. I much rather have both get the fuck out of my life as much as possible.

The problem is, as the global economy and automation leave more and more Americans behind, more and more people will vote for socialism. Right now, that is being financed by debt, but that really isn't sustainable.

Of course, as a % of GDP, France and the UK are right there with the US. Japan is about 50% higher - a number we'll probably surpass in less than 8 years. At current pace, our debt could become an economic nuclear bomb in two decades.

What's you solution/recommendation? You are pretty much saying the whole world is fucked once the robots take over.

It kind of is. There simply won't be enough jobs to go around.

Although talking socialism in regards to resources is quite a bit different than redistributing wealth. Assuming there's enough raw materials, for example, everyone could get a new car, and how frequently would only be limited by resources and recycling recoverability. Robot labor at every step of the production process means supply is only limited by the physical amount of raw materials in the ground. Oddly enough, if you own that land then those raw materials have real value while, at the same time, no one really has money to buy it.

While there is a finite supply of basic raw materials, perhaps in the future we are able to mine more from asteroids and nearby planets. Otherwise, water has pretty much been solved and I don't think energy is far behind. We've always been able to exceed food production needs, but that's a constantly moving target with population growth.

Yep, House pulled it.

The option now is to live with the ACA.

So, is this really the best the GOP can come up with?

I don't think it should be the best the GOP can come up with but the results say different. Maybe this is the best they've got.

Many heralded the ACA being passed. There's some value in seeing it in it's mature state.

Hopefully cool with it staying place so that it becomes the disaster that it may be and thus resulting in the House all but begging for a repeal. Now that's artful.

Considering that, nowadays, politics is all about simply opposing what the other party is doing, I can't say I'm surprised they didn't have a viable plan in order. I think their only real plan was "Obamacare Bad!" and they thought that saying that enough and clicking their heels would magically create a better world.

After 54 failed votes, the pubes can't repeal or replace the AXA. Even though they have control and 6 years to figure it out.

Its a super good bill. Its fantastic. Its Trumpkare

I think they have something better, but they are pussies and too afraid to bring forth a bill that they actually would want. Evidence # 112910291021029102912 that politicians don't give a fuck about anything, but their jobs. There is a reason they are blatantly ignoring Rand Paul and they refused to let him see the bill.

Two things equally or more effective and much cheaper:

1) $8000 in annual vouchers to poor people without insurance

2) $8.34M in postage and labor to mail poor people that they were eligible for Medicaid

I don't really know, but when people say this it seems like they think politics works better someplace else.

Yeah other countries are a cluster fuck too. I think our system is fine (except everyone should have term limits, including SCOTUS). The only issue is both parties just suck ass. They both seem to be out of touch with reality.

I don't really GAF about other countries. The repub congressmen had a chance to actually work and replace something they've been screaming is awful. And then show up with jack shit. What the hell are they even there for?!
