Ohio has a great beer scene so I thought I'd ask a few questions about it.
1. Which breweries have you visited?
2. Which breweries are your favorites?
3. What are your favorite beers?
I have been to the following (that I can recall):
1. MadTree (Cincinnati)
2. Rhinegeist (Cincinnati)
3. Woodburn Brewery (Cincinnati)
4. Listermann's Brewing Company (Cincinnati)
5. Taft's Ale House (Cincinnati)
6. Urban Artifact (Cincinnati)
7. Fifty West (Cincinnati)
8. Blank Slate (Cincinnati)
9. Streetside Brewery (Cincinnati)
10. Paradise Brewing (Cincinnati)
11. Nine Giant (Cincinnati)
12. Rivertown Brewing (Cincinnati)
13. Christian Moerlein (Cincinnati)
14. Cellar Dweller (Morrow)
15. Buckeye Lake Brewery (Buckeye Lake)
16. Homestead Beer Co (Newark/Heath)
17. Yellow Springs Brewery (Yellow Springs)
I don't think I've been to any of the Columbus breweries, which will change this Spring/Summer. We are also thinking of going to Cleveland this summer so we would check out a few up there as well.
My favorites are MadTree, Rhinegeist, and Urban Artifact. MadTree does a little bit of everything well, Rhinegeist specializes in IPAs and Pale Ales and Urban Artifact specializes in sours/wild fermented brews.
I'll check in later with a list of my favorite beers.

We have a ton of good ones in NE Ohio. Great Lakes is obviously one of the most popular, and I do like their beer. They have a restaurant, but the food is meh IMO. I just stick to the alcohol. Ohio City has Market Garden and Nano Brew now, too, but I haven't been to either.
Fat Heads, Platform and Brew Kettle are other good CLE options.
I like Thirsty Dog, Hoppin Frog and R Shea in Akron.

Nice.
Brew Kettle and Jackie O's are probably my two favorite non-Cincinnati breweries.

Oh man
Breweries I've visited:
GLBC
Thirsty Dog
Hoppin' Frog
Market Garden
Platform
Brew Kettle
Fat Head's
Willoughby Brewing Company
Rheingeist
Fifty West
MadTree
Municipal Brew Works
Portside
Fifty West, Thirsty Dog and Hoppin' Frog were my favorites. Fifty West is the only one that has food worth a shit IMO.

Rockmill is really nice. Can't wait to get there again after the weather breaks to enjoy the outdoor seating.wkfan;1839906 wrote:Really enjoyed Rockmill Brewery around Lancaster

R. Shea is awesome. I love the enormous cans they have to allow you to take some with you.Fab4Runner;1839882 wrote:We have a ton of good ones in NE Ohio. I'm ashamed to admit I've never actually been to Thirsty Dog. It even makes my favorite seasonal beer. Just haven't gotten around to it.
Have been to the Brew Kettle, Hoppin' Frog, and GLBC, though. They're all certainly good.

Add Wolf's Ridge Brewing - Columbus. Would go again. Although they would not fill my North Country Brewing growler, which was a letdown. But as usual, I got some great comments on it!

My new favorite Ohio beer is a New England-style session IPA from Woodburn Brewery called Hammer. A nice bonus is I can walk to the brewery from my house.
