I don't get into politics too much, nor is it a high priority for me, but I thought it was interesting, and unfortunately not shocking, when my professor talked about officials being more worried about actually getting elected into the system than actually delivering on any promises. I am in the Public Administration major for graduate school, which is sort of an off-shoot of my specialty in undergrad, so it is secondary information to me. My teacher used to work in Washington D.C. so she got to see that kind of stuff all the time.
It is funny to me how fired up people get over the party system and create anti-campaign attacks. In the end it seems like many politicians are just looking for a spot, and could care less about what beliefs they portray. I know this is not always the case, but to me this is just another example of flaws in our system. The teacher I have is an African native, so she has a different perspective than many of us.
But that's just my two cents. I doubt you'll see me around here too much.
