What in the hell is ESPN doing? Saw some of it after PTI and it's easily the worst sports show I have ever seen. Who the hell thought this was a good idea

Nobody watches highlight shows anymore. Ratings are in a freefall. Might as well try some new stuff.

In that same vein, why do they think anyone is going to watch this?

6pm is a rough time for Sportscenter. The highlights from yesterday are old and nothing much has happened that day to cover. That said, I saw a promotion where they not only talk about sports but also movies, music, etc. Who GAF about their opinions on any of that?
I can respect ESPN for trying something new as Lalely said, but if you follow Jemelle Hill on Twitter it's hard to find many people who like her or her show(s).

Ratings are about the same as they were for SC 1 year ago today at 6pm, and up from before the change. It hasn't been a rousing success, but far from a failure, at least to this point.

I haven't heard one person have one good thing to say about the show. My guess is the ratings tank.

Not to beat around the bush...but...they will have a steady audience, imo. Lol

I haven't watched much of SC 6, but I don't mind the combo. Michael Smith is really good, IMO. Jamele can be bad, but their chemistry is great.

And how did ESPN first start out?

What does that have to do with anything happening today?

IMHO, the only worthwhile non actual sporting events on ESPN are 30for30 and NCAA college game day.

They've been pulling that E back into it consistently over the past few years with things like this, covering WWE and Esports, etc.

I'm assuming it's a mix of working within the continually shrinking budget from Disney (they were supposed to lop off like $350M over the last 2 years) and trying to get more non-sports eyes on the TV, assuming that dabbling this stuff in isn't going to turn away the ones who only want sports.

You've got at least a year before they pull the plug.

I've never seen their his and hers show, and I haven't seen this SC either. I haven't watch a SC outside of SVP a few times in years. Why are so many people still watching??

Good question. It's rare I watch anything other than actual sports on ESPN (usually a 30 for 30 that looks interesting), so I'm not exactly their audience for these shows, lol.

Yeah, with the instant ability to view any highlight, if SC is on, I turn to an old sitcom rerun. I have no use for any of those shows, which is why I don't understand why people complain about them? Are you actually watching SC daily and this ruins it?

I can not stand Hill at all. ESPN used to be amazing but the "talent" they have now is worthless. Hell Russillo is the only person really left at the station that I enjoy. I wish the app/text alerts had a filter for Stephen A Smith hot takes. He's horrible.

as far as ESPN is concerned, I like Golic, Jr and College Game Day (both football & bball), and 30-for-30 as well...the worst? Stugats, Greenberg and Dakich.

The worst thing about Dakich is that he does every damn B1G basketball game and he just sounds so damn punchable. And then you turn over to the B1G network to catch a game and fucking Jon Crispin sounds like he was cloned from Dakich, so you can't fucking escape him no matter what you do, lol.

The best thing about Dakich is how pissy he gets if someone talks shit to him on Twitter.
