92.3 had a nice interview with Bitonio (funny guy) yesterday. Said he's glad he doesn't have to face Myles Garrett and said he has a really sweet dip move. He was also talking up Kizer, like everyone else seems to be. Hopefully Kizer steps up and shows something on the field.

Garrett was finally promoted to the 1's yesterday and easily beat JT for a sack on Kessler. Hope we see more of that because if he can beat Thomas, he can beat just about anyone.

Part of the reason I'm in the "start Kizer from Day 1" camp (besides the fact we want to see if they can avoid drafting a QB high next year) is that I think that this is the best position they've been in to start a rookie since they've returned.

On paper, they should have an excellent O-line. If he stays healthy (along with the line) I could see Crowell being a 1200 yard back. A strong running game should open up the passing game for Kizer. Plus, he has the advantage of being able to take off, on the run, which will make him more of a red zone weapon.

The biggest question marks will be the receivers. I think Duke will help here and I'm hearing DeValve is looking fantastic in camp, having put on size, improved his blocking and is catching everything in sight. The WR corps is a crap shoot and I'm just hoping a couple of these 2nd year guys step up because Britt isn't a legit #1. Don't think Corey Coleman will be either.

The thing I really like about Kizer is he is excellent off of play action. Led all of college football last year in passer rating off of play action. A strong running game will only help Kizer that much more.

I agree with most of this. Perfect time to throw a rookie in the deep end to see if he sinks or swims. We already know what Kessler is (not a starting QB) and the only reason Brock is on the roster is because the FO couldn't find a team willing to trade for his contract. Let's not forget that Sashi immediately was on stage talking about how excited he was to get another draft pick and he never mentioned Brock. Brock has ZERO business starting this season for the Browns.

As for Crowell, I have a hard time seeing him having that type of season, because 1. Hue loves to abandon the run for whatever reason and 2. I am just not as high on him as some are. If he has a 1200 season, then I am most likely losing the romper bet I made with my friend.

Another thing I like about him is the work ethic and the time he's putting in to learn the system. The guys from 92.3 have been out at camp and said he's usually the last one to leave the field and is there well after practice, calling out plays and then going through them. They (92.3 guys) tried to bait Bitonio into a question yesterday comparing Kizer's commitment/work ethic to Manziel's and Bitonio avoided the Manziel part and just said that Kizer is really putting in the work and will "wow" you with some of his throws & actions. I just REALLY hope this guy pans out so they can use the top picks next year on weapons for him and the defense.

I'm actually not that high on Crowell but if the line is as good as I think it can be, a blindfolded monkey could probably go for 1200 in this offense. I do agree with your comments about abandoning the run with Hue. Let's just hope if Kizer's the starter he'd know better.

On a side note, that one lady who covers (primarily) Steelers camp from NFL network (Aditi something) was in camp yesterday and said "this Browns camp has a different 'feel' than previous camps." We'll see.

Report I heard today is that the defense is light years ahead of the offense and none of these QB's have done anything to really separate themselves (sounds way too familiar). The belief of one Cleveland beat writer is that Hue had hoped that Kessler, knowing the offense, would've taken the job and run with it, buying time for Kizer to learn the system. That apparently hasn't happened. If they are all about the same, why not just roll with Kizer when he has the most upside?

With the injury to Tannehill, I wonder if the Browns can wiggle a draft pick out of the Fins for Osweiler? He and Gase have a history together. That's assuming they pass on Kaepernick and can't get Cutler to come out of retirement.

Well, I guess the QB's, for the most part, did not look good. Osweiler was the best of the bunch, followed by Hogan. Sounds like Kessler looks like a heaping bag of dog crap and may have been outplayed by Hogan. Kizer was meh and missed a potential long TD throw.

Crowell had a nice stiff arm on a 37 yard run.

Sounds like the defense, again, looked better than the offense.
