Pretty good read. Sounds like Collier will be working for the program in some capacity while completing a graduate degree.
Yes. And I totally meant to post that letter lol.

Good for him, it sounds as if he is 100% at peace with the decision.

Not a ton of list minute signing day drama with OSU this year (hopefully). The only thing that I'll keep an eye on, is 5* DT Marvin Wilson from Texas who announces tomorrow afternoon. They're only giving OSU a slight chance...so not too optimistic.

Seems like LSU or FSU for Wilson, but he is close with Okudah and Browning. Maybe they can convince him to come to Columbus, but like you said, it seems unlikely.

It sounds like Tufele is probably gonna pick USC since it's closer to home, or stay home altogether and pick Utah.

Thayer Munford should be a Buckeye tomorrow to round out the class.

I usually use 247 sports when looking at rankings, and it looks like Bama will finish with the #1 class for the 7th straight year. OSU's class is arguably better in quality, just not quantity since they have limited scholarships available this year. The Buckeyes should finish with the highest average rating per player since the current recruiting ranking system began. Very impressive.

I thought Michigan might make a run at the top spot since they can sign a huge class this year. I think its impressive the amount of five star the Buckeyes signed.

Unless Michigan gets several surprise commitments tomorrow, they're probably gonna finish at #4, at least in the 247 Sports rankings.

No surprises so far today. Was hoping to get the that big DT from Texas. I know it was a long shot but loved watching the other players in the Buckeyes class go after him.

Looks like OSU finished 2nd on 247 Sports, Rivals, and ESPN, and somehow finished 4th on Scout. Like I said, I think 247 is the most reputable source and OSU had the highest average per player since they started doing ranking calculations. Spectacular class for Urban and his staff. Looking forward to seeing what they do on the field.

Yep, for the 7th straight year in the 247 rankings. They signed 29 players compared to OSU's 21.

He still signed with them and is grayshirting.

He signed his LOI at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

Rankings aside, OSU had the 2nd best class, easily. A lot of Georgia fans crowing about how great their class was, but quality, it's OSU and Bama and then the rest.

Alabama was best overall; OSU was best as far as players' average star ratings go.

Can someone explain how they dropped so many players from five stars to four? I noticed the Buckeyes only have five five stars when early on there were two others that were five star. I know a few others were right on the edge of being a five star as well.

Josh Myers dropped to a 4* because he struggled in pass protection at Army AA practice. That's because his high school ran the ball almost constantly, so he's just not an experienced pass blocker. Kinda dumb that he dropped just because of that, but that's how it goes.

Trevon Grimes missed most of his senior season with a knee injury. He dropped to a 4* as well simply because he wasn't able to show much this year. Even dumber.

Martell and Dobbins never rose to 5* composite status, but probably could have been. Some of these instances are why the ranking system is pretty flawed, but overall, it seems like they do a decent job. Some services are way better than others though.

I've wondered how they come about the star ratings. How does Martell go 41-1 TD/Int., 21 rushing TDs, 1200 rushing, 2300 passing, national offensive player of the year on the #1 ranked team playing legit competition...not get a 5*?!?

Completely agree. Martell and his team probably played one of the most difficult schedules in the entire country, and he produced every single time. Undefeated for three straight seasons and "national" champs every year. Martell is simply a play maker and a winner.

The reason he's not a 5* is because he's a little small for an elite QB and some people have questioned his arm strength. He has performed well at all camps and against great competition at all the major events, so it does make you wonder how he's not a composite 5*. Just shows how much these kids get nitpicked when being evaluated.

The Buckeyes picked up their 3rd commit for the 2018 class tonight. Jaiden Woodbey, a 4* safety from California, gave his verbal pledge. Woodbey is a Top 60 player overall in 2018, ranked the third best safety in the class, and at 6'2" 205, he's very physical. He was a high school teammate of OL Wyatt Davis, who is part of the 2017 OSU class.

Woodbey joins Emory Jones (5* QB from Georgia) and Brian Snead (4* RB from Florida) as the current members of "Supreme 18".

These ranking guides are insane. I understand he is undersized but if hes that good does that not mean something? Sometimes I have to laugh at the rankings. I was reading about one of Bamas commit getting a higher score not going up a star and he had the same issues of blocking pass rushers as Josh Meyers. I like reading your posts and enjoy your insight thanks for sharing.

I think this is a great pick up.
