Would be a good move, with Cutch's dwindling range and with how Marte is a Gold Glove guy.
I mean, if their young pitchers don't develop a lot (Cole being healthy and getting back to form, Taillion progressing from a positive start, Glasgow "getting it" and so on, it won't matter because it'll be next July and I'll be looking at the stats wondering just how Jeff Locke has 15 starts with another 5.50 ERA season in the works.

Has a team ever had 2 pitchers in a rotation at 42 or older?

I saw a tweet that said the last time a team had 2 pithcers with 10+ starts at age 42 or older was the Rangers in 1990 with Nolan Ryan and Charlie Hough.Azubuike24;1823802 wrote:Has a team ever had 2 pitchers in a rotation at 42 or older?
Also saw another tweet I found funny... "Bartolo Colon made his MLB debut the day Turner Field opened. He'll now pitch at the new Braves park. The dude outlasted a stadium."

Nice to see two former Tigers win Cy Youngs yesterday. Just frustrating to know we could have had a rotation of Scherzer, Verlander, Porcello and Fulmer this year, but hey we had to have Price and Cespedes back in those off seasons

Jesus.
Other thoughts go directly to Roughned Odor's brother is also Roughned Odor....but I wouldn't make fun of that to the elder Odor's face. Lol
WTF indeed to all of this.

Yeah they definitely didn't want to have a strike/lock out after the great post season.Ironman92;1827071 wrote:CBA done already. Things going well in MLB

26 years of labor peace in MLB. Both sides have learned from the last labor strike.

All-Star game doesn't mean shit as far as the World Series is concerned. It's nice seeing MLB do something smart to make up for how the last commissioner was a complete dipshit.

I really like Manfred....kinda like Tom Herman. High successful position but just seems like a regular guy.

Selig gets a lot of shit, some of it warranted, but I like how he brought along interleague play, finally got everyone to agree on the drug testing, more teams in the post season, and replay. I dont like some aspects of replay, but do like the concept.
He didnt get a salary cap, but they did get the luxury tax threshold that I think helps somewhat. Teams arent liking paying all that extra $$ if they get ot that point.
The WS thing...that sucked and tarnished his legacy

Going back to how it used to be, where the team with the best record hosts it, from what I read.Ironman92;1827150 wrote:What are they doing?

Actually, prior to the winner of the ASG having home field, it just alternated NL to AL every year no matter the record.Heretic;1827152 wrote:Going back to how it used to be, where the team with the best record hosts it, from what I read.
I do like the giving it to the best record, as it MAY spur some teams who clinched long prior to eek out some wins if it gets close

I was surprised to see that Matt Holliday is about to turn 37. Didn't think he was that old.

Steadily declining like a player should. 4 straight years of declining OPS+Mulva;1827663 wrote:I was surprised to see that Matt Holliday is about to turn 37. Didn't think he was that old.
Surprisingly under 300 HR
Does have nearly 450 doubles and will surpass 2,000 hits within a few games. Probably in the top 10 of guys you don't want charging the mound on you.

New CBA looks to be dropping players food allotment from $105 to $30 per day on road games. Teams will be provided a pre game and/or post game meal.
