Rizzo is excellent but IMO Freeman is better at first and Arenado (or Billy Hamilton had he not been injured too much) for the platinum.

Tribe moves prospect catcher Francisco Mejia to 40 man roster in preparation for rule 5 draft....Mejia is the player who had a 50 game hitting streak at Class A Lake Erie. To make room, Chris Gimenez was outrighted. The team also claimed pitchers Edwin Escobar and Timm Cooney off waivers.

Bauer is a weird dude. Just saw a post on Twitter...he appeared in the new music video of Amon Amarth's. Amon Abarth, for those unfamiliar, is a Viking metal group. The song is Raise Your Horns (used literally and in the rock n roll sense). The song is horrible but apparently Bauer is a big enough fan he got a small cameo.

The Tribe has signed outfielder Daniel Robertson(OF) to a minor league deal, and outrighted the guy who made the last out...Michael Martinez. Robertson is not on the 40 man roster, and releasing Martinez has opened up a spot. The Tribe still hopes to keep Martinez whose value as a defensive utility player is not in question....with a minor league deal.

The Player's Association and the MLB have yet to reach an agreement on a new CBA. The old CBA expires at midnight. Without that in place, winter meetings will be cancelled. While it appears the threat of a lockout or strike are low...they just need to get this done.

Tribe tendered arbitration offers to 8 of their 9 eligible players... including Chisenhall, Otero, Shaw, Guyer, Allen, McAllister, as well as Salazar and Bauer.

Non tendered and now a free agent is right handed reliever , Jeff Manship.

sure....provided I got someone with some pop against righties. 1 HR every 12 AB against left handers is pretty darn good. By comparison, Mike Napoli didn't hit a dozen HR's off of lefties all year...and he had a pretty damn good year.

How does he hit right handers and what do I have to give up?

Agreed. If they did this as a legit best of the best from each country, and not during spring training, I might be interested. Instead, for the most part, top tier guys don't want any part of something this serious before the season. There's just not a good time for this with how many and how long the season is.

A little less pop against right handers, but Carlos can play 1st 70% of the time.
Free agent. But, I can't figure out what his value is.

Less. Just a gut feeling, but I think the Tribe has a shot not here. The market is dwindling with so much power at the corners, and Yanks/Astros/Jays out of the bidding already.

Apparently they made an additional $48m with the playoff run, so going against the typical tribe offseason might actually be a possibility.

....I wish I could be optimistic, but the Tribe always seems to have a price point and won't go over. This feels like another second place finish in the bidding.
