I wasn't the optimistic about it. Durant would still get his 30+, Klay would go off, or they'd get some ridiculous, out-of-the-ordinary outing from Pachulia or Livingston.

I agree but I'm just saying there's a chance.

It's pretty telling when they (Cavs) didn't really put forward a concerted effort to get the #1 seed because they knew they'd be in the finals. The Cavs are THAT much better than the rest of the East.
You are.

You downplayed the competition of the East because it was convenient to your argument that the cavs coasted through an easy conference. It's just wrong, and you're spouting out bullshit.

I agree with this completely. Not to mention you have another guy (Green) who can give you a triple-double any night and another (Thompson) who can fill it up or be a lockdown defender.

That's why I made my previous comments on Lebron's "window" for rings closing because if GS keeps this core intact, who's going to beat them? The Cavs would miraculously have to add a 4th piece, which I doubt is possible with their cap situation. Not to mention, if they get swept, K-Love is probably going to be the scapegoat (AGAIN) about not "fitting in" and they may try to blow it up.

K-Love is definitely NOT the problem. I know you weren't insinuating that, just saying. He's been the best he's been as a cav in these playoffs. The Cavs need to find a way to get younger, but how?? They're gonna have no cap space. They will most likely trade Shump who all but said hed like to be more a part of something and get more shots. But doubt he brings much in return.
Jefferson and Jones x 2 probably retire. But they'll get no cap relief from any of that.
Oman, who knows if he's ready yet.

Honestly their best shot, is to hope Klay wants to move on from Gs and be the man somewhere. Which is possible. He hasn't seemed to be the same with KD there.

I do think they will use Derrick Williams much more next year, and I think they should.

I'd be willing to Trade TT, but nobody is taking that contract.... or JR's.

The thing that has me more pissed off than anything, is this bullshit about KD being the best player in the world. Gtfoh... KD has the easiest job of any great player in NBA history, by a mile. He's nearly unguardable anyway. And now he's playing on a team with shooters everywhere. You can't double anyone or help off anyone except a center. People always bitching about LBJ has so much help, yet again Durant is getting this baby treatment and nobody even talks about the help he has.

The dude joined a team with 73 wins and the unanimous mvp.. a team he had down 3-1 And choked too.

Shit pisses me off

That's why I think LBJ's chances for rings (in Cleveland), going forward, will be slim. They need to get younger, but how? I'd have no issue dumping TT but him & Lebron are pretty tight so not sure if that would happen.

I do agree with your comments about Klay going elsewhere to be the man. I have heard this thrown out there. He's always going to be a third (or fourth) wheel in GS but he can almost guarantee being in contention for a ring the next 5 years if they keep their group intact.

Also, I wish the Cavs would go back to the Lebron/Kyrie pick and roll game. I've barely seen it and I think it's the best strategy to beat the Warriors.

They've tried it, but they're attacking Kyrie with two guys on it, and he's over dribbling or turning it over when they do.

I want Kyrie to be the screener so we can get a small guard on LBJ after the switch. This creates a lot of pressure on the defense and this is how we won Games 5,6,7 last year, provided the role players hit their shots.

The vWarriors are hiding Steph. Klay is on KI and is a much better defensive player.

Eh, did you watch the Indiana series? They would have been swept sleeping through that series.

Watch out, guys! We've got a hot take! :P

Yeah. If we got five guys out there who were competent (they don't have to be "good) scorers, this wouldn't be so easy. However, these days, you can put Steph on JR because, and I can't believe I'm saying this ...

JR has more fouls than points. He has three points. He has five fouls. WTF is that?

You can suck and still not have a stat line that looks like that.

Meanwhile, Steph had more rebounds last night than Tris has gotten in the first two games combined (10 to 8).

LeBron is playing very well. Love is playing MOSTLY very well (still missing some bunnies, but he's at least remembering that he's a big). Kyrie runs hot and cold, so sometimes, he's playing well, and sometimes, he's invisible.

I appreciate RJ's effort, even though he looks like an old man at a rec league when he dribbles.

I know they say that role players generally play better at home. I really hope that pans out. Korver needs to start hitting. JR needs to not look lost. And the whole damn team needs to miss fewer shots in the paint. There's not much excuse for that, unless you're getting swatted by Durant ... which apparently has become a trend if last night is any indication.

We either decide to play defense, or we should just forget it.

Yeah, offense is not the problem.

GS just looks unstoppable and I don't think Cleveland has an answer for it. Everyone on GS seems to be hitting and unfortunately Cleveland appears to be fucked.

I think the same thing, and based on Lue's face in last night's presser, I think that's what he thinks, too. I genuinely think he believes that they're already bent over the barrel.

92.3 had Chris Broussard on this afternoon and Broussard said that he's heard that Ty Lue has no intention to change his game plan and will still try to push the very up tempo offense. If so, they're done. He's not going to "out Warrior" Golden State.

I heard some stat that these last two games are, by far, the highest tempo that LBJ has had to play in his career.

Getting into a shooting match with a team that can commit 20 turnovers and STILL blow you out isn't very bright. I think if they try to muddy it up and keep these next two games in the 90's/low 100's they might have a punchers chance to go back to Oracle even up. If they try to run with GS, it's over.

Not to put the cart before the horse but Broussard said that, if for some reason this series ends ugly, in 4 games, the Cavs will be in an "arms race" with GS and Kevin Love (no shocker) is likely the odd man out. Said LBJ & KI should try to recruit Paul George like a mofo.

Drennan had a good line tonight when asked about Cleveland attempting to run up-tempo with Golden State..."The Cavs can run, but The Warriors sprint"

How foolish for Lue not to publicize his change of strategy for the series!

Guess we'll see tonight. Both Lue & Lebron were vehement that the up tempo is "how they play their game" and "what got us here." They could very well be playing possum but if they're not, and Lue decides to try to go toe to toe with these guys, he's a fool. Cavs best chance to win any games against this team is to slow it down and keep it in the 90's.

Might as well just run the 4 corner offense....except they'd more likely to turn it over before get a shot off.

Also, adding George and subtracting Love is a horizontal move for the most part. You'd be a little better, but still not on the level of GS. If the want to get on their level, Griffin is going to have to pull something major off. Some sort of TT, Shump, JR, Cedi and future picks type deal (highly unlikely I know).

He also mentioned getting Melo to suggest a buyout and join the Cavs, as a fourth piece (LBJ/KI/George/Melo), on a veteran minimum contract. I doubt Melo would do that and I'm not really a fan of his but that would give them more firepower.
