I hope Joe Maddon knows something the rest of the baseball world doesn't...because I do not like this lineup. Schwarber is going to K 3 times and Coghlan sucks...
Probably heard about Kipnis' ankle and wanted his designated leg mangler out there to do his job.

If Davis gets on tonight I fully expect him to steal every base

If you are Kipnis, and Davis is on, you have to take until he is on 3rd.

Hopefully he causes chaos...but he has to get on first.

Davis 8
Kipnis 4
Lindor 6
Napoli 3
Santana DH
Ramirez 5
Guyer 7
Chisenhall 9
Perez 2

No Coco...which is surprising. He's been swinging a hot stick.

They don't usually play him vs. a lefty. But his BA isn't terribly different vs. lefties and righties. Hopefully Guyer can get something going.

They misspelled Heyward, weird.

Will be electric in Cleveland tonight, no doubt about that. Game 1 winners take home the trophy nearly 2/3 of the time....
By that logic if you want to be considered one f the best pitchers in the NL you better be able to hit...

I am telling you that those 3 middle positions are defensive positions and managers are just happy if they get a few hits over .250. Again, Arod and Cal were eventually moved because someone else played the position better. If you are the best SS of all time you don't get permanently moved to 3rd.

The most surprising thing about Lester being so bad at throwing to 1st is that he is left handed and starring at first. Most lefties are much better at pick offs at 1st than righties plus they Jane the advantage of being able to disguise the pick off as a pitch with the straight up leg kick (with foot not passing the plane of the rubber) that righties don't.

Or someone who actually played the game through college level and umpired for nearly 20 years in Summers for extra money.

Think about it, some of the best 1B and 3B all time are known as great hitters and most of us couldn't tell you if they were good in the field or not. Same with LF and RF, Manny Ramirez was considered one of the best of his era and he was terrible in the field.

Now, think about the best CF or SS of all time. They were great defenders,'especially SS.

Thavoice is just a fuck boy redneck. Hardly posted anything in any tribe threads all year, and of course now he has to spew his bullshit with over saturated posts.

Hope Kluber is on tonight and the bats get going early!

For the record, Ripken is definitely an overall better player than Omar if we want to be fair. There is a reason why Omar is a fringe HOFer (most say he is in the Hall of Good) and Ripken was easily a first ballot HOFer. Omar is by far a better fielder though and I can't really think of anyone else who is a better fielder.

Don't be surprised if Coghlin plays well. He's the Cubs version of Rajai Davis, a 4th OF that seems to hit about .333 when I tune in.

I'd be surprised. He hit .146 with the A's this year and struck out 47 times with like 12 walks.

A little better with the Cubs though.

Unsustainable amount of walks based on his career history. An aberration during a small sample.

He will give a pesky AB that works a pitcher. I won't be surprised one bit if he has a big and timely hit.
