Looks like we're headed out to Denver. Wife gave the OK. Was contacted by a recruiter and initially blew him off... I finally accepted an interview and fell in love immediately with the area when I got there. Wife flew out with me for the second interview and spent a long weekend there. It'll be different from Ohio without any family close, but we're excited. Guess I have to learn how to ski.
Any posters out here?

Don't live there, but Denver is one of my favorite cities in the country. Enjoy.

Know where you plan on living? My sister is in Wheat Ridge. Not the most happening area in terms of stuff going on, lots of old people and first time home owners, but your money goes pretty far there regarding housing.

A very good friend of ours is an optometrist in Longmont, so if you need a recommendation on an eye doctor, let me know.

I've heard good things about Aurora, Arvada also.

My company has sales reps in both towns, we have a ton of business in that area.

And yes, ski lesson....asap. Or snowboard if you can handle getting your ass kicked the first few days. ;)

I'm 6.5 hours from Denver. I go there 2-4 times a year probably. Love it there.

Congrats. My Mother-In-Law lives in Greeley and I have a cousin that lives in Parker. Very nice out there, but I'd prefer to live on the Western Slope. Spent many vacations there, but none anymore since the Mother-In-Law moved from there.

I have yet to visit Greeley, but the Wife has been out there a few times. I'll make it out there one day.

having looked at several jobs in that city, and having numerous friends that have lived there, if you are in a suburb MAKE SURE it is one that has access to the light rail to go downtown. apparently in the winter you will regret not using the train to get into downtown as traffic is a nightmare. I really liked it there, but have never had a good enough opportunity to make me pull the trigger. Good luck.

Yeah we have an offer on a house in Highlands Ranch. It's due South from downtown and the light rail takes you downtown.
