This hurricane looks to be insane. A lot of "weather people" calling this a monumental hurricane that will level parts of Florida and the coast. Hoping everyone evacuated but I'm sure there are some idiots who are still there. I read something that the National Guard let everyone know in the mandatory evac areas that if they don't leave they need to give them the contact info of their next of kin because they won't be rescued.

Our hospital in Gainesville got over 150 transfers from hospitals on the coast today. We only have about 25 open beds left.

Latest projections thankfully have it missing us in NC (while I'm in LA lol). But Florida and Georgia gonna get smoked, and probably SC.

We left. Governor Haley is awesome. Reversed the main highway to be west only, saved a ton of time. We will probably only get a 1 but 2 days without power sounded terrible when we had free room in charlotte

Sister lives b/t Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. She said it's clear now, but lots of water and debris.

Latest projection indicates there's a possibility that after it hits southern South Carolina that it could circle around back to Florida!

We evacuated yesterday at 2:00 pm and got a room at Fort Benning (my son in law is in the army) 250 miles from Savannah (Richmond Hill). It took 10 hours. I-16 eastbound lane was also reversed all the way to Macon. I talked to many residents who said "I ain't leaving". We decided to obey the law and err on the side of caution, as my daughter is due to deliver any day now and driving her to the hospital in a hurricane or delivering a baby at home was out of the question.

If if they hadn't opened up the eastbound lanes, I don't think it would have been possible to get out. It was eerie and something I had never experienced.

Friend of mine rode it out in Jupiter, didn't even lose power.

Looks like there will be a ton of rain and big storm surge in areas, but may not even make landfall.

Likely more accommodating than my stay at Sand Hill! Get bored head on over to the Infantry Museum...pretty cool stuff.

I should have stayed. Neighbors never lost power. Getting back is gonna be a bitch. The beaches got pretty messed up and downtown was flooded. Florida missed getting their direct hit but still lots of damage

never lost power? That's impressive. My sister in Raleigh is going on 2 days without power.

Wife said we lost power Saturday, but came back about 9pm (12ish hours).

There are definitely still people without power. Most of which are more north of downtown which is weird to me, but it floods worse up there. Our house is 7 miles from the coast in a direct line, but our area doesn't seem to flood. I think I'm going to buy a generator and ride out anything below a 3 next time. I drove back Saturday night and there was no traffic, but it took people 6+ hours to get back from CLT which is only 3ish hours away normally. Some places are still heavily damaged from water.

Many areas in Savannah are still without power.

Talked to a woman who had to show her ID at a police road check to get back in to her area.
