...not necessarily but rather by lending to the display of them individually being the show as opposed to benefiting by being granted the opportunity be part of it is what leads to the piece of crap reference. Those actions have seemingly, slowly grown over the years and need to be snuffed out by the perspective leagues. The penalties aren't harsh enough until it stops.

Genuine displays of emotion are one thing....idiotic, predetermined antics are another.

The NFL imposing a penalty on such actions suggests that I am not delusional. The individual is not bigger than the game and players acting as if they are will continue to be throttled.

I love it when Antonio Brown flips into the end zone or racks himself on the field goal post base, but it pisses me off when LeVeon Bell keeps smoking weed.

Celebrations are about 10294th on the list of things to fix in the NFL. Why shouldn't they get 15 seconds to do a skit with their teammates when they score? Makes fans happy, makes players happy, harms what exactly?

...because that's not what the entertainment product truly is. Of all the things wrong, the NFL should be attempting to fix all 10294+ things. If that's where celebrations fall then it should be "fixed" too.

Says who? Maybe some people like the skits? Otherwise we're just watching a half-dozen replays, boring extra points, and about five minutes of commercials with a kick off in the middle.
And don't cite the NFL imposing penalties as your defense. The same NFL that might fine players for wearing patriotic cleats in honor of 9/11 because it goes against their dress code?

Con is just a grumpy old man who doesn't like when players celebrate. I'll ignore from now on.

Good game. Can't greatly get into it but it's good enough to keep me up too late.

Green showed why he's one of the best WR's in the league. The only difference between him and Julio is the target volume. This year, it will change.

Yep...the NFL. ...their product, their decision to enforce those things that don't fit with their wishes.

He makes Dalton's shitty under throws look very good. I swear Dalton just heaves it up half of the time to see if Green can make a spectacular play. Green is legit.

Wouldnt be the first time they were completely out of touch with their fan base. Let's agree to disagree on this.

THE SHIELD!!!! IT MUST ALWAYS BE PROTECTED!!!!!!

Never mind minor details such as that to GODdell, the "shield" mainly stands for such things as penalizing celebrations, fining for wearing anything not 100% approved by the NFL (even if said "illegal' clothes are in support of something the NFL allegedly supports) and giving suspensions for even misdemeanor drugs (weed is bad....mm-kay); while not so much about domestic violence (needed elevator video proof to do anything about Ray Rice, only one game for the NYG punter) and being seeemingly absurdly apathetic at times about player safety, as Thursday night's game showed.

Days like yesterday is why I love the NFL over all other levels of football. Great game after great game after great game.

From game one on Thursday you have such a rooting interest because with just 32 teams and the playoffs you almost start looking at division, conference and playoff implications from the get go. Pull for teams you normally you wouldn't but if you expect your team to compete you are looking at every sort of in conference/division win and loss.

Bengals showed that they can be for real. I thought on the road they were gonna fall but Dalton showed why he is an upper echelon QB>

I'll be curious to see if Norman is forced to shadow AB.

I would think so and bracket some coverage his way.
With Bryant and Bell suspended and Wheaton out it makes it easier to concentrate and try to take out the best they have.

I honestly don't like the Redskins matchup tonight for my Steelers. Even if Steelers were full strength I would feel much the same. They will definitely get pressure on BR, likely shut down the running game and limit AB....for Pittsburgh to win Ben will need other receivers to step up.

Maybe I'm way off. I feel Washington benefitted from an easy schedule last year and don't expect great things from them this year (though 8-8 might win that division)...but I don't have a good feeling about this game.

I dont usually have good feelings about many games on the road and it is amplified in prime time. With those three missing it will make it very difficult. I have it down as a L. Losses suck, but if the team is going to lose 5-6 a non conference loss is about as "good" of a loss you can get.

I bet AB returns a punt for a TD and torches Norman for 135 yds and a TD. He's my pick again for league MVP this season.
