The health care bill and Porkulus Sammich - coupled with the disastrous leadership of the BHO/Pelosi/Reid Unholy Trinity - are making some Dems nervous enough to run for cover....after, of course, they assisted in creating the quagmire.
Predictable.
While I'm not optimistic the Dems will lose their majorities in the House and Senate, I am confident that they will take a significant enough loss in both houses to lose their Super Majority status this November.
Naturally the next predictable outcome is the Dems and the leftist media will bemoan the fact that the Republicans will have regained enough seats to re-implement Senate filibusters and the ability to block additional ultra-leftist legislation by House rules.
The bitching and moaning about "The Party of NO" will be back in full force on the Sunday morning talk shows.
To that I can only say, "Thank God."

Yep...the replacement Dem candidate will say he's different....and if he's in a traditionally Dem. district, it may help.

This does not help GOP chances to win these kinds of seats. Better to beat the rascals in November than to have them bail out before then...

Good. Out of the 100, he may well be the dumbest. A blithering idiot.
I suggest you watch these 2 videos of his Senate floor speech before the vote on Graham Leech Bliley in 1999.
It is like he took a time machine into 2008 and was reporting back then to the letter exactly how the economy would crumble.
In fact watching it makes me angry, because if a Senator from North Dakota could see how the bills passage would create the pathway to "Too Big to Fail" (and he does use those exact words) how did none of the financial wizards of the Clinton Administration, Federal Reserve or Republican Congress led Congress.
The bill passed 92-8, and people in Congress looked at him like he was a crazy person to suggest that within a decade the Fed would be bailing out the economy.
I don't agree with all of his politics, but had we had more Congress people with his foresight our nation would probably have a few trillion more dollars in the bank right now and TBTF would have never been born.
It is 16 minutes total viewing, and I recommend watching it.
11/4/99 was the date of the speech.

I've seen them. I also know who actually came up with his talking points. You really don't believe he figured this out himself, do you?
Even if he did, would the credit override the fact that he's been one of the worst partisan hacks in the Sentate over this time period?

I'm going to disagree, Barbara Boxer is without a doubt IMO the worst and dumbest Senator...she is unelectable in the other 49 states, just like Pelosi is unelectable in the other 434 Congressional districts. What is it about California?

^^You misspelled Kalifornia.
You want to add in something disgusting to the Dodd story? There are now rumblings that Dodd may replace Geithner as head of Treasury. If I can find a link, I'll add it back in.

"I'll bet one day somebody's going to look back at this and their gonna say 'how on earth could we have thought it made sense to allow the banking industry to concentrate through merger and acquisition to become bigger, and bigger, and bigger with far more firms in the category of too big to fail, how'd we think that was gonna help this country?'"
Yeah queencitybuckeye, really sounds like an idiot when he said this in 1999.
Edit: I was talking about, and the quote is from Dorgan. Not Dodd.

To be honest I would be happy if most Senators retired. Since Voinovich represents the state I reside in I singled him out. Although there are some issues I agree with him on, I am also a fiscal conservative so I take issue with some of his votes.
Then there is his "emotional" episode on the senate floor. Where he chokes up over his fear of the harm Jon Bolton's appointment as ambassador to the UN will do to his grandchildren. Yet he has no fear in increasing the debt limit, and the harm that will cause to his grandchildren as well as the nations grandchildren who will be forced to pay for it.
Maybe I should not thank God for his retirement because Voinovich's voting record in defense of the unborn was good. But I think Ohio can elect somone who will do both. Hopefully republicans will nominate someone who will fit the bill.
