Rushmore is a National Monument operated by the National Park Service so technically it is a National Park. Last summer I did a X-country auto trip and hit 6 Natl Parks in 22 days... Rushmore, Glacier, Olympic, Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Rocky Mountain. Put over 6,200 miles on a rental SUV. Yeah I win. (again)

How was yellowstone? I've heard people say it's not worth it and it's really overrated.

Yellowstone was crowded but the animals and geysers and waterfalls are awesome. It was my favorite.
