What are some movies, that have received critical denunciation, that you actually enjoyed?
I am guilty of skipping over watching a film due to the reviews given by others in a lot of instances. However, there are several that have been labeled as "flops" that I have enjoyed.
Example:
Last night my family and I watched "Black Knight" starring Martin Lawrence. It was full of laughs and we all enjoyed, but has just a 14% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
What are some are your favorite "box office busts?"

Suicide Squad got terrible critic reviews and I thought it was good.
Same with Deadpool, critics hated it while I thought it was great.
I am also with Automatik, while Waterworld wasn't "Field of Dreams" quality, I enjoyed the movie.

...Sahara, with Mathew Mc Conaughey and Penelope Cruz (I think she's hot). This movie was a bust at the box office but I enjoyed it.

The Terminal - 53% on metacritic, but a 7.1 on IMDB
Anyways, I remember people not liking it, but I did. I'm usually the opposite though, people will think a movie is great and I don't.

John Wick. I don't know ratings, but it was available for streaming very quick, so I assume they were bad lol. But I loved it.

John wick has 85% on RT and it deserves to be 100%. It is an awesome movie. I watch it whenever it's on. Can't wait for John Wick 2. And 3 and 4 and 5 and 6.

Almost anything with Steven Seagal in it. Fat, old and slow Seagal in his recent movies adds an element of unintentional comedy.

Especially since it seems like in every movie he's in, every single fight is a pure, unadulterated curb stomping of the poor fuck who dared to challenge him. And then you look at him and wonder "WHY??!?!?!".gut;1807885 wrote:Almost anything with Steven Seagal in it. Fat, old and slow Seagal in his recent movies adds an element of unintentional comedy.

Outside of "Hard to Kill", I don't know if he's even suffered a scratch in any other movie....well, aside from "Executive Decision"Heretic;1807887 wrote:Especially since it seems like in every movie he's in, every single fight is a pure, unadulterated curb stomping of the poor fuck who dared to challenge him. Under Siege 2 might have been the best. They built up the main henchman of the villain to be this super bad ass and then he confronted Seagal. And proceeded to get his ass kicked for 5 minutes straight before getting killed. He didn't even get to land one punch. It was great.gut;1807900 wrote:Outside of "Hard to Kill", I don't know if he's even suffered a scratch in any other movie....well, aside from "Executive Decision"

Hot Rod...an underrated classic, IMO.
A ton of comedies I love have bad reviews, which is par for the course. Critics seems like assholes with no sense of humor.

Hot Rod for sure. Sounds weird but when I first met my future wife and she was able to quote that movie...I knew I had a keeper
