It seems like a decent amount of us here like to travel. I figured we could consolidate a thread so we can post about where we are going and ask for recommendations.

I'm headed to Toronto tomorrow for the weekend.Has anyone been? Any recommendations?

Toronto is an awesome city. Been there quite a few times for work. Where are you staying?

I'm not very cultured at all and don't have much desire to leave the country...but I would like to go to Toronto and Montreal

I was skeptical of Montreal because of the whole French speaking crap, but it was pretty cool. Very "European". My company is headquartered there so hopefully I get to go back soon.
If they have poutine in Toronto, eat it.

I gotta get to Montreal asap. I have friends going all the time, I just never make it happen. I've been to Toronto twice, but both were during high school where I was just led around on your typical group trip. I remember it being like a cleaner version of NYC.

I have a trip to Paris and Berlin upcoming in October. I also want to learn to surf and then go to Central America sometime next year. I also want to have more money and unlimited vaca days. :-/

I went to Toronto in 5th grade AKA forever ago. I don't remember much at all, but my fiance, brother and SIL will be hitting it up on a baseball trip at some point.

My girlfriends and I are booking a cruise in the next couple weeks that will go to Aruba, Bonaire and Grand Turk. I'm jazzed, especially for Bonaire.

A different brother is moving to the San Diego area this week. I'm devastated, but hey at least I can visit California for the first time relatively cheap. Disney + zoo + several baseball stadiums all at once will be nice.

Our Airbnb is a block away from the raptors arena.

I know it screams "tourist", but the restaurant at the top of the CN Tower is really good.

I have been to Disney alot. What ages are your kids? Where are you staying and for how long? Do you have your dinner's booked yet? If not, you should. They book up fast. For first timer's, the Chef Mickey breakfast at the Contemporary hotel is a must. If you have girls then the Princess Dinner in the Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in the Norway Pavilion at Epcot is another favorite.

There is so much to do there and hard to do it all in one trip. What other questions do you have?

I will be going down to Gulf Shores/Orange Beach for Labor Day weekend. Only travel plans for the rest of this year. Might do a cruise sometime in the winter if not will probably do one early in 2017. I've never been but my wife has done 3.

I've always wanted to visit Toronto but just haven't yet. I need to get my passport and travel outside of the US.

I am going to Dublin, Ireland in November for 10 days. Might head over to Liverpool to catch a soccer game if it works out.

Also have a wedding in Charlestown, NC later this year.

Dublin is cool, are you doing day tours out into the country or anything? We did a 5 day Land Rover tour along the southern to west coast of Ireland, it was a lot of fun. Drink plenty of Guinness and Beamish. The Guinness brewery tour is worth it. And I'm sure you'll find yourself at The Temple Bar.

Do you mean Charleston, SC? Never heard of Charlestown, NC. If SC, let me know if you need recommendations.

Nice. That's right in the heart of the entertainment district. For walking purposes close to you, there is a fun bar we went to called the "loose moose". Had decent food and a good atmosphere. A fun sports bar also walking distance is called "real sports bar and grill". TVs everywhere. Probably over 100, and they have 4-5 giant projections. Those are seen by the downstairs and the upstairs balcony, for an idea of how big. This is probably 10 feet from where you're staying lol. Didn't spend a lot of time in that area outside of working.

If if you end up heading away from the city on Yonge St. at all, a good little diner called "Frans" and a burger place right next door called "W Burger Bar" are both very good. Intersection of Yonge and College.

Heading to Hohenfels Germany for 3-4 weeks pretty soon. Not sure how much we will get to actually get out and see but it should be interesting.

Unlimited vacation days are awesome. Huge perk of working in Bay Area tech. I usually take 3 weeks to a month off a year.

Yeah, during my job search I'm seeing that more and more. Tech = unlimited or "smart" vacation policy. Basically, get your shit done and you can have off.

Sidenote: Had no clue you worked in tech. It's booming here. I've been getting some leads, but it's tough to get in without prior experience. It could happen though. Also casually looking in Denver.

Nice, thanks! I'm waiting for my friends to get in so found a coffee place with wifi to strategize some plans. I just walked by the loose moose 7 mins ago. I think I'm going to head there now.

Yep, cheapest/easiest benefit to give your employees that ONLY incentives more loyalty. Companies with 10 day vacation policies are living in the past and data shows it's fucking stupid.

Not trying to highjack the thread, but if you want any help/ideas/what the fuck ever about "Tech" jobs shoot me a pm or start a thread.

I just can't go to Disney because I simply fear being surround by all of those Dads wearing Goofy or Mickey Mouse hats....and I can't stand those people.

10, 7 & 7. All boys. We are staying at the Art of Animation resort. We will be there 4 full days and 2 half days. Wife is planning it all, so I'm not sure about dinner plans. I just hope they serve alcohol or allow flasks.
