Mine is a little more pedestrian, a small-frame revolver. Looking at a Ruger LCRx or a S&W Airweight.

Did you use the musket in basic training?

I'd like to start carrying...so something for that.

My wife already has her CCW, so I've been wanting to get her one to carry. She has one in mind, but can't remember it right now. Maybe with a new job, some purchases can be made.

Are you thinking .38 special or .357? I have a large frame .357 and I wouldn't mind something small in .357. Maybe with a laser sight.

I'm contemplating either a Colt .44 Anaconda or a Colt Combat Elite.

If I go with the Ruger, the LCRx only comes in .38+P (the x is the external hammer version that I would prefer for some single-action shooting at the range. If I go Smith, I may jump up to the .357.

Ruger does have an new LCR chambered in 327 federal magnum. It shoots all .32 ammunition as well as the magnum round. Besides this versatility, it gives magnum performance with significantly less recoil than a .357.... And allows an extra round in the cylinder. The only problem is that I haven't seen them in stores, you have to work to get it and special order it. The .327 is also available in Ruger's medium frame revolver, the SP 101.

I've read a little about that cartridge and it sounds interesting but I prefer something with ammo that is easier to find

Blackwing apparently has 15 in stock

^^^I don't know that it's hard to find ... But it is more pricey than most. You can however, use less expensive .32 rounds on the range.

Bought quite a few guns recently at an auction. First auction I have been too with guns that the guns were going crazy cheap. Bought two Berettas one for 225 and the other for 300. Both still in the box with very little wear 96A1 and a 92FS. Bought three ARs dirt Cheap I think the most expensive one was the colt at 435 the other two were both DPMS and got them for 350 each. I could not believe the prices. Bought a bunch of ammo for dirt cheap as well. Cases of 223 and 556 for 100 per case of 500 rounds of all brass ammo. I cant remember the prices of the other stuff I bought but those that I do remember were cheap. Wish every auction was like that.

Been contemplating buying an AR lower just to have in case they ever get banned. Possibly build my own or get the completed lowers / uppers. Would only use it at the outdoor range to plunk around.

What kind of auction? Most of the auctions I go to are for animals or farm equipment.
