He is a cav killer, but not sure what "splash" moves you are expecting this off season. If you got your hopes up for wade then LOL.

Oh I know, want much room for anything. Wade would have been nice, more so of an F U to Miami fans. I still don't like having Mo as primary backup PG. Not sure of other options though

Eh I like it. 3 and D. He'll spread the floor for us and he's got good length. Can cover 3 positions. Solid move.

If Dunleavy can't still knock down the open 3, then it's a good move.

So the Cavs got a 4.8mil trade exception in a sign and trade to Mil for Delly. They will in turn use that full one on Dunleavy, meaning they still have the 9.8mil one.
Now, someone smarter than me, please explain why Milwaukee would do the sign and trade? I don't fully understand all of it, but I was under impression Cavs weren't going to match, and Delly was free to sign with them?

Random guess, and it wouldn't really mean much since it's freaking Delly, but if Cavs resign and trade I beleive his Bird rights and any other rights that the team who drafted (in this case first to sign???) him have go as well in the trade.

The Bucks did it to guarantee that the Cavs would not match(or another team) which could screw up their ability to pursue other agents.

Plus the Bucks gave us the rights to a shit player who will never come over. They gave up basically nothing to guarantee the player they wanted will be a Buck next year.

Delly's letter:

Cleveland,

Thank you for the past three years. The Cavaliers are a great organization and I really want to thank everyone involved for giving me my opportunity, making me feel so welcome. Thank you to all the staff, coaches, and players that I have worked with during my time at Cleveland; I have made lifelong friends. Winning a championship with a special group of players, I can't wait for the first reunion. Thank you to the fans for all the love and support.

When I first moved to Cleveland, people would say "Oh, you're going to Cleveeeland" (in a negative way) - I didn't know anything about Cleveland, I just knew it was going to be colder than Australia and Saint Mary's (California). Those people couldn't have been more wrong. The city is unique and special. Cleveland has grown and changed a lot in my 3 years of living downtown. There are tons of great restaurants, the people are genuine and the passion for sports teams is unreal. All the people that visited me absolutely loved it.

Here are some memories I will never forget. The crowd going crazy and giving a standing ovation when I denied the ball to help force a shot clock violation my rookie year- Anderson Varejao taking me under his wing and showing me the ropes - Seeing the crowd still there and supporting passionately throughout a 33-49 season- Lebron's first game back, The Q was crazy- Getting to play pick and roll with the best player in the world- Throwing lobs to TT- The support and love you showed for me, especially during the playoffs and finals last year- Catan battles with my mate, Joey Harris- The Cavs Australia Day- Team dinners - The way the fans brought even more intensity and energy to drive us when we were down this year in the Finals 0-2 and then 1-3- The arrival back to the airport after winning - and of course the parade, I don't think I can say anything that would do justice to that experience - Hearing local Clevelander's stories of what a championship meant to them and their city as well as where they were and what they were doing during game 7; I feel lucky to have been a part of that experience.

Tough to put into words how I feel about Cleveland and everyone connected to it - just know that I gave everything I could anytime I was out there and I loved every minute of it.

The opportunity I have in Milwaukee is the right move for my career to challenge myself to grow and develop with a young, exciting team.

It is time to move on now but I really can't thank everyone in Cleveland enough for everything. Cleveland will always be a special place for me and a special chapter in my journey.

All the very best,
Delly

Good stuff...glad he had some good moments after all the badgering of him early last season. I wish 90% of today's athletes would act like him and play balls to the wall the whole time. No bitching to refs and no trying to be cool....just playing his ass off trying to help his team. Hope he does well in Milwaukee

Delly is the man. Not the most talented player but made up for it in other ways (hustle, heart)

His few games in last year's finals were incredible. The whole god damn city went crazy for delly.

Once Delly signed that offer sheet from the Bucks, no other team can match that. Its only between the team he signed with and the team he last played for. Smart move on the Cavs end, know you are going to lose a player, get something out of it. On the Bucks end, they basically did the trade as a favor to the Cavs like Wildcats said.

Looking at the player salaries for next year, the options are slim for using the 9.6M TPE from Varejao. IMO, they still need a backup 1 and backup 5.

In the 6.6M-9.6M range, the only guys I see worth giving a call to their team are Beverly(6.0M - Houston), Boris Diaw (7.0M-Utah), Calderon (7.7-Lakers), Splitter(8.2M - Atlanta),Koufos (8.6-Kings). Slim pickins.

He hasn't. There some very unrealistic rumblings among some of the in the know guys from LA that he could have failed a physical. But that is very unlikely. It's more likely that he is just out of the country or some shit.

They signed birdman. Now I'd love for them to find a way to get Rudy Gay.
