I found a new favorite app this week. I love XTunity. It lets you scan a tv and hear the sound for whatever is on, it's perfect when your out at a sports bar and they don't have the sound up on the game you are watching. What everyone else's favorite app.

My brother told me about this app back in early March. The first time I had a chance to use it was last weekend at the airport. It's pretty legit. I can't see myself being the guy at a bar with headphones on to get sound to a game though.

Two apps I recently got into are Acorn and Robinhood. Acorn takes your purchases from the accounts you link (credit, debit, checking, savings, etc) and allows you to invest the remaining cents from your transactions to the nearest dollar. They create a portfolio based on your goals and invest for you. Robinhood allows you to buy stocks without the $7 fee.

Mileage X Plus is another legit app for those who like to travel. It allows you to gain miles with United for purchases you make at select stores. If you are a big Amazon user, you can get 2 miles per dollar spent at Amazon. All this while you also are earning miles/points/etc on your own credit card.

Can anybody recommend a legitimate news app that provides notifications?

I recently got an app similar to Acorn called Qapital. It's the same principle, but it just sets the money aside. It's a simple way to save without thinking about it. You can set your own "rules." Every time I swipe my debit card, it rounds up to the nearest $2 and puts it in a separate fund. I'm using it to put aside money for an unnecessary purchase.

Gonna look into Mileage X Plus. I buy a ton on Amazon.

Current favs for me are Rekordbox (DJ playlist management) and Duolingo. I'm attempting to learn Spanish somewhat, but I suck.

I used XTunity about a year ago, not long after it came out. It did not work well, at all, over 4G. It worked ok enough over wifi, with a second or two lag (but sufficient for news or sports). Hopefully it's gotten better, but it is great for at a bar or the gym where you can't hear the tv.

For Android, the other app I really like is GReader Pro. It's widgets are pretty good, but the killer feature is it will auto-download your feeds for offline reading later. So nice to have a bunch of stuff to read on the plane, or maybe you have data caps and can download in the morning over wifi and read throughout the day without burning data.

FlightTrack and TripIt are two more good apps for travelers, but really you should also have the airline app for the one you're traveling on.

I use tunify. Its the as xtunity. Seems to work well so far.

Looked into it and that was the first thing I found.
