Since there might be a couple people on this site who aren't fans of ACC schools.
Yesterday afternoon/evening, Illinois demolished the Minnesota Porn Suspensions, putting a merciful end to their shitshow. And then Nebraska pulled away from Rutgers, putting a merciful end to their shitshow (Rutgers viewing notice: find what player on the team seems to be their best guy; wait for his inevitable suspension; wait for the coach to get fired; wash, rinse, repeat).
Neither of those games mattered as far as anything goes, as both Illinois and Nebraska would need to win the tournament to get into the NCAA and that sure as fuck isn't going to happen. Both have a couple good players, but don't have the skill or depth to win five straight games in as many days.
TODAY:
Right now, slumping Michigan is playing right with Northwestern. They've led most of the game, but can't pull away. This is a must-win for Michigan. If they win, tomorrow's game with Indiana also is a must-win. After that, another win still might be needed. When you're a bubble team, late-season slumps combined with the knowledge that, no, LeVert isn't coming back do not help the cause.
Then comes Iowa-Illinois. Iowa probably wants to win a couple just to help their seed and get some momentum going into the tournament.
After that is OSU-PSU. OSU is in the same boat as Michigan. This is a must-win and then they'd have to beat MSU tomorrow just to have anything resembling a legit shot at the NCAA. Probably one more win, too.
And tonight concludes with Nebraska-Wisconsin, where the Badgers are working to improve their seed and hope their general hot play of the last month or so continues.
TL;DR version; Four games, with two (Mich-NW and OSU-PSU) having importance simply because two teams currently on the wrong side of the bubble are fighting for their lives to claw back onto it. I guess the other games could be close, but they don't really have anything on the line, other than teams in the NCAA hoping to make a good run to improve their seed.

Definitely tl;dr lol
Should be a decent tournament after the shitty teams get out. Top 4-5 of the B1G is pretty damn good(Sparty, Iowa, Maryland, Purdue, Indiana).

I agree. I'm paying attention today, but I'll be really into this tomorrow. Like you said, the top 4-5 are good, 6 (Wisc) is intriguing just because of how they improved as the year went along and there's enough intrigue about 7-8 and how much they have to do to get in that their games are interesting just from a Bracketology standpoint.

Michigan survives in OT to keep their tourney hopes alive for, unless they play a lot better tomorrow, one more day.

Iowa looking like a good 7-8-9 seed to immediately pick to be eliminated. With how they're such a senior-dominated team, I didn't expect them to crumble like this down the stretch, but they're nowhere close to the team they were earlier in the year. Must be the state, as ISU has had the same problems.

Iowa looks tired. And Fran seems to have worn thin on his guys' ears.

Fran can't be much fun to play for. Screams nonstop.
Crazy that not long ago they were a popular final 4 pick.

I think a win against MSU might be enough, but don't see a win against Sparty. They are hot right now. Would have rather been the 8 seed and drew Indiana

Personally, I'd have rather been the #5 or #6. Purdue and Maryland are more susceptible right now than either MSU or Indiana, IMO. Particularly Maryland, although OSU would probably still need one more win and that leads to MSU, so in the end, that could wind up working against the Bucks anyway.slingshot4ever;1785730 wrote:I think a win against MSU might be enough, but don't see a win against Sparty. With both Wisconsin and Iowa losing yesterday, the match-ups aren't quite as neat today. The Michigan-Indiana and OSU-MSU games are the two that actually matter, as you have two teams fighting for their NCAA lives and two teams fighting for an elite seed (MSU going for a #1 and Indiana probably fighting for a #2). Maryland-Nebraska could be intriguing as Maryland has been struggling recently and Nebraska somehow has broken a five-game losing streak to win two straight tournament games. I'd expect Purdue to stomp Illinois in the other game, but I guess momentum could carry the Illini to a respectable showing, at least for a half.

At the office, so what happened at the end? I saw it was 68-66 Indiana, did something work-related, looked up and then the final was 72-69 Michigan.

Yogi went 1-2 at the line. Michigan hit a 3. IU turned it over, Michigan hit a 4 with .2 left.

Indiana in the BTT...never fails. Never won it, only been to the finals once, and have to have more 1st game losses than anyone in the conference. I swear, they lose round 1/2 every year, regardless of team or coach.

Awful execution by Purdue in the final minute. Knew MSU would find a way to win though.
