So my wife and I are doing a date night once a month where we go out without the kids and we take turns planning the night. One thing we want to do is pick a new restaurant every month. One we haven't been to and we want to stay away from Italian or Steakhouse type restaurants because we always go to those type of restaurants and also no chains. Can be any style of food as we are open to trying new things.

So any suggestions? Anything in Cbus or around 270 is fine.

The wife and I did this almost every Friday for a year. We called it Yelp Friday as we always found a new place on Yelp to try. We tried everything from cheap to expensive from sit down to food truck. Some of our favorites were

Tip Top (fun place on Gay St downtown)
Brassica ( a Mediterranean chipotle type place started by Northstar)
Hot Chicken Takeover ( lunch spot)
Pint House
Ocean Club
The Melting Pot (a chain but it's fun to do Fondue)
Barleys (High street location great beer and wings)
B&K Smokehouse 2nd best BBQ in town (not in the best area)
Ray Ray's Hog Pit ( Best BBQ in the city and its a food truck
Mya Fried Chicken another good food truck
Enas Carribean Cafe (awesome jerk chicken place in the ghetto)
Yellow Brick pizza (old towne east)
Meisters (Chicago deep dish pizza)
Los Gauchos ( top 5 tacos in America according to food network order a gringa)

A friend of mine own's Wolf's Ridge Brewing and while I've never been I've heard its incredible.

A little on the pricey side but it seems that's what you are looking for.

Yannis has some good Greek food off of Cleveland Ave. It doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is really good. (I like warm rice pudding for dessert)

I also like cafe Istanbul at easton or in Dublin

A 2nd for Yellow Brick Pizza in Olde Town East.

Also The Crest in Clintonville.

Really like the Kobe beef hamburger and lots of scraft beer on tap at The Pint Room in Dublin....only drawback is that the room is loud!
