What is/are your favorite Ohio microbreweries?

I've been to a few good ones…
Maumee Bay in Toledo
Rivertown in northern Cincy
Millerburg Brewing Co in Berlin

Looking to check out the new Royal Docks Brewery over on Fulton by Beuhler's and also the one in downtown Canton (forget the name).

We've got some good ones in Akron. We did a brewery day for my friend's bachelorette party last June.

Thirsty Dog - top notch.
Aqueduct - Pretty good. It's in the same building as Thirsty Dog...just right around the corner.
R Shea Brewing - Newish, but great.
BrickOven Brew Pub - The beer is good, but the pizza is amazing. Top 3 best pizza in the area, fur sure.

I went to Canton Brewing Company last Saturday to celebrate a trio of birthdays, and I really enjoyed it. Also, Lagerheads in Medina has really good beer, and fantastic BBQ.

That enormous building they have is really cool too.

Thirsty Dog, Hoppin; Frog were both awesome when I went. I grew up/mom still lives within about 10 min of both Fat Heads locations, and Brew Kettle. Both are very good, tho everytime I've been in Brew Kettle they have top 40 BLARING on the radio and the place is filled with families/old folks. Makes no sense, and very difficult to hold a conversation. Good beer, shit atmosphere.

I still need to hit up some cincy breweries, Hoof Hearted, and Jackie O's.

I haven't been to many but I've tried a lot. IPAs are my favorite so if one of your favorite places has an amazing Porter or Stout...I likely don't know of it.

Black Cloister- Really good all around.
Brew Kettle- White Rajah....my god. So good.
Fat Head's- Their beer is great. The saloon is also great. The dry rubbed smoked wings are to die for.
Jackie O's- All around awesome. I recently had the Matriarch triple on draft...almost 12% and so smooth for a triple IPA.
Madtree- Out of Cincy...they recently got distribution in the Toledo area so looking forward to trying more but I like what I've had so far.
Maumee Bay- Local here in NWO. Avoid the Buckeye...not a fan but they have some seasonal stuff that is great. A blood orange wheat in the summer is good and I like the Blitzen better than Great Lakes XMas.

You must have REALLY enjoyed it because Millersburg Brewing Co is in Millersburg, not Berlin. That same company also has a location in Wooster.

That was probably my fault since I originally said it was in Berlin.

My bad... I blame it on the Rake-fight injury!

Fat Head Holly Jolly and Pimp My Sleigh - best Christmas beers I had this year
Brew Kettle - White or black Rajah
Madtree Lift - kolsch style but great for a summer day
Temperance Row Christ Ale

Hopslam? I have a 6 pack coming today. It hasn't hit Ohio yet but there is a store right over the border in Michigan that has it and a buddy of mine picked some up for me.

I enjoy Hopslam but 18.99 for a 4 pack is a ripoff. There's other hoppy beers out there that are just as good but not as overhyped.

Jackie O's is good.

Weasel Boy Brewing (Zanesville) is interesting.

Been wanting to try Marietta Brewing Company.

+1

Lots of good ones in Cleveland with Platform, Great Lakes, Fat Heads, Market Garden, etc.

Has anyone brewed their own beer at Brew Kettle? I did a batch with a group before Christmas (Winter Warmer) and it was really fun. The beer turned out good too.

I guess that proves alcohol stunts brain development out of the womb too.
