Well, yeah. That's why money is such a big factor. Millions of voters make up their minds based on those tv ads. Trump is doing as well as he is mainly because he has as much recognition as Hillary, and because Hillary is so unpopular/polarizing.

For context, it will take 60M+ votes to win this election (In 2012, Obama got 66M, Romney 61M). In the primaries, Trump got 13.3M out of 28.6M votes. Granted, Romney only took 9.8M of 18.5M in 2012.

Trump's record number of votes could be record numbers of democrats switching to make sure he was the candidate. What is impressive is his ability to run his campaign and drive his base through platforms designed by the left to do the same.

Very true. Were this a different year, and Trump was running against a likeable or charismatic candidate, I would be far more confident in hedging my bets against him. Not only does he have the advertising experience, but he's got the ideal opponent. The deck is stacked in his favor as much as possible at this point in the election.

All valid points.

At the end of the day, the problem is not going to be so much that Clinton is a corrupt lying criminal; the real problem is she actually has supporters that don't care. Hopefully Trump can lessen the number of such supporters.

I'd be curious to know how many people she actually draws. I've heard reports that the majority of the DNC was surprisingly thin.

Something anecdotal, but I'll share nonetheless. A was talking to a girl at work today who asked if I stayed up to watch Hillary's speech. I told her I didn't and hadn't read anything about it yet. She told me she was on the fence about who to vote for before. Didn't like Trump and how immature he was but also didn't like what she heard about Hillary and how you couldn't trust her. But she said after her speech lastnight she's voting for Hillary now. This girl doesn't really have many political beliefs so she's one of the swing voters both sides are looking for. I wonder how many independent women voters hillary picked up lastnight like her.

My guess is she will sway her opinion numerous times before November if it's that easy to sway her.

Same effect Trump got after his convention. Didn't the polls move like 7 points?

I really want to see what happens if Gary Johnson gets in the debate and the 50%+ of voters that don't like either candidate realize there's a third choice...

My guess is being a woman, she's more likely to be moved by Hillary than Trump so I don't see a lot of flip flopping amongst neutral women.

That's all that the Dems have left. Identity politics. Obama only got elected because he was the first black president, now they push the woman narrative. I'm sure the next candidate they put forth will be gay or trans. I doubt that i will see another straight white male win the democratic nomination in my lifetime
