What the one thing in your life you’re going to change from last year?

I’m going to plan more, long weekend trips with my wife and just take life slower and more relaxing.

Do you have to write the spec docs for the design project material listing?

what CAD program do you use?

I plan to read more. I failed miserably at my new year resolution to read more. I am going to hold myself accountable to read more this year. I got a head start by reading The Man in the High Castle. Good book.

That was one of my main deals for this year. Buying the Malazan Empire books helped with that because when you have a 10-book series averaging roughly 1000 pages a book, at least after the first one; 6 books telling "side-stories" of what's going on out of the main narrative, 5 novellas featuring minor characters and the beginning of a 3-book prequel, you basically have two choices: start reading more or find yourself dead before you're close to finding out how it ends. Now, if I keep reading a lot after getting through this...that's a different story, but I am reading a decent bit more now!

I go in and out with feeling like reading. I used to be able to read on the train to work, but it's gotten so fucking crowded now that I always have to stand with little room to hold a book. And I don't feel like reading after work. Majority of my reading is now the times, Atlantic, or online articles. Very little time for novels etc....

That was mine in 2014. Think I read 10-12 books that year, which is a lot considering I usually read like three. I wish I could find more books about outer space. I loved 'The Martian' and 'Saturn Run' by John Sandford. I'm currently reading 'Commander in Chief' by Clancy, which is pretty good.

Had a lot of bad luck the last few months and got off track of my weight loss. Going to get that back on track and focus more on that.

Spend less time at work.

I'm going to try not to be such a perfectionist about things at work. I need to learn to accept when my work is "good enough" and stop caring so much about impressing my bosses.

Started reading more at the beginning of this school year. I think I'm on book number 9 right now.

I also will budget better. I've always been pretty good, but with a new daughter I've read up on some ideas that I like. Big one is that I will use my tax return to pull out my babysitting money for the year. This will allow me more money monthly to put towards debt. I will also use my summer school pay to knock off some of my car payment. I'm starting to see the end of the tunnel there.

I haven't committed to this yet, and I still have about 14-15 hours to decide fully, but I'm considering limiting my caffeine intake to only my morning cup of coffee. Right now, I will have about 8-12 fl. cups of coffee in the morning (during work week), and a mixture of various caffeine drinks throughout the day: more coffee, zero cal energy drinks, diet soda, etc. I'm still healthier right now than I have ever been in my entire adult life, but I want to do more, so... It may be worth a shot.

if i want to change my life, i do it. i dont need an arbitrary date on the calendar as motivation to do it.

that being said, my life is pretty good and see no changes that need to be made

Coffee is good for you. Don't drink the other crap and have 5 cups of coffee a day. Tons of articles on the benefits of coffee and how 4-6 cups (or more) are perfectly ok. Just don't use creamer.

I need to start running and being consistently more active. It's awful anymore when I'll play a few pickup games of basketball or hockey, I'm sore for 2-3 days after. This summer I stopped taking a cart for the most part when I golfed and it helped tremendously with being in shape but now it's winter all I do is sit all day
