Their 8 and what else?

^^^
The last time we traded down (the year we picked Gilbert/Manziel) We traded our #4 pick to Buffalo for their #8 and Buffalo's #1 pick the following year. I would expect a trade from #2 to #8 would be worth more.

Gotta look at the positives. At least we never traded 3 first round picks for him [emoji23].

Considering they've torn the team down and it looks like a multi year project, 2-14 WGAF?
He knows more than we do!!!
Just stop sleeper. You know he does. If you are not good with his hire, I suppose that's one thing. If you are, you have to give the man his chance. You can't micro-manage him because some dipshits on an internet board think differently.

Carson Wentz looking good at his pro day (outside of throwing a wet football).

That's gotta be the pick at 2.

Wentz at 2 definitely seems likely. Give him a year or so to sit. Don't mind RGIII, McCown can't play 16 games.

No offense...but this can't happen. When was the last time the Browns kept a QB they draft on the bench? As I said before...if your plan is to draft a QB and sit him...don't make it a top 3 round pick. Fans/media ALWAYS throw a fit after a 1-8 start or a 3 pick game and demand that QB that they drafted plays....and they ALWAYS cave and play them when they're not ready. Rinse...repeat.

I get what you are saying, and even agree with it for the most part, but we can't treat each new regime as the "same old Browns". They must have a plan in place. And Ok, after 9 games I would be fine with a rookie starting. They still needed a stop gap for 9 games, so why not kick the tires on RGIII. The guaranteed money isn't much. And I don't think Hue gives a damn about what the fans, and certainly not the media, think.

I hope he doesn't. I hope ownership/management stays out of his way too, I feel like they're the ones that hear all the noise and start pressuring to play certain players. But yes, I do agree with your original thought in theory. We just don't have a good track record of sticking with that plan.

Maybe a little bit of the ego move by Hue Jackson. Taking on a guy that Jay Gruden hated and refused to try to make anything out of. Wonder if they had a bit of a rivalry in Cincinnati?

The new regime just signed RG3, perhaps the worst QB in the league, who played as the 3rd string QB on the Redskins.

New regime, just like the old regime.

Actually, Gruden tried to make him a pocket passer, which fucked him up. He didn't adapt fast enough so he was a "lost cause." He thrived when he played in Kyle Shanahan's system.

Hue Jackson has already made the comment "we tailor the system to the players" (or something to that effect) so he's not going to try to make RG3 another Peyton Manning. Griffin is a very gifted athlete who they will somehow try to harness, for at least the short term.

As long as they stay true to their draft, I'm fine with it. Unless it was a huge smokescreen, the way they were fawning over Wentz at his Pro Day today (only team to give him instruction), I'd expect them to take a QB at 2 and have them compete.

This is spot on. What happens if RG3 actually rebounds and they have TWO good QB's on the roster? What a motherfucker! I'd HATE to see them have that problem! They might actually be able to trade one of them for some value. That would really suck.

He actually thrived bc he ran the read option which was new to the NFL at that time. The next season the NFL adapted to it, and he sucked ass. He got benched bc he was a bitch boy and couldn't adapt.

The Read Option is why RG3 was great as a rookie, and why morons thumped their chests saying he was the right pick over Luck...LOLZ. The Read Option simply doesnt work in the NFL. Defenses are way too fast and way to smart. Especially when they know the QB isnt a great passer and they dont need 2 safteys over top to help.

The other issue with him, as we have all pointed out, is health. What makes him dangerous is also what makes him unable to stay on the field. His legs and ability to scramble/make something out of a broken play. And it isnt just the hits...he gets injured by making cuts. But, toughen up those joints and make him stronger and more apt at absorbing the hits and you take away his only true value to the team. His speed, elusiveness and ability to make a play when there isnt one.
