If 92.3 posts their interview with former Buccaneers GM Mark Dominik, I highly recommend giving it a listen. So much good football stuff.
Just a fascinating interview for a football junky.

And as a side note from the Dominik interview, which should please guys like S&L, Dominik said whether the Browns select Wentz, Goff or Lynch at #2 they won't go wrong.

All are good character guys who should translate to franchise QB's. Just need to weed through them and pick the one that fits them best. He actually said Lynch might be the best pocket passer. Mentioned that Wentz probably wasn't a 1st rounder on many teams boards until these Senior Bowl practices but will be now.

I'm sure they will have a favorite but it's comforting to know that should someone leapfrog them to #1 and take the Brown's guy, there will be a suitable fallback option (still want your guy though).

He also mentioned that he could see 5 QB's go in the first round with Hackenberg (possibly to the Texans/O'Brien connection) and Cook being the other two.

This might explain Jim Brown's recent support of him. They share a lot in common.

Dude's a sinking ship. Faster they move on from him, the better. Getting sick of seeing stories about a clown who's not much longer for this league.

This is the exact reason that the Browns should not be so eager as to grab a QB with the #2 pick. These guys are fish in a barrel, and 1 appearance or workout isn't enough to put one ahead of another. Browns should trade down, get an extra high value pick or more...and then grab the best QB available when their turn comes.

Wentz, Goff, Lynch...etc, etc.....one or more will be available deep into the first round. Trade down and get another high value pick. Not rocket science.

Yes, let's take the guy that everyone is passing on. When we have our choice of the top guy, let's take the one that drops. The Browns way!

Hits, that's the dumbest fucking thing I've ever heard.

Do your research, the one you like best, you take. It would be smarter to trade up to 1 to guarantee you get your guy than to trade down and take the worst one.

Thank you lol. I swear I lose my mind when I hear Browns fans say that.

When we try to get cute, we fuck it up.

We have the first QB option available To us and we need a QB (desperately). To trade down to add an extra DE that may not pan out and take the third or fourth best QB option is mind boggingly retarded.

Yeah, because QBs taken in the top 5 picks ALWAYS become franchise QBs and are NEVER busts....I think I'll take an extra high value pick or two IF I can get it... Especially for a team that needs to upgrade at more than half the positions.
I'm not saying that they necessarily have to do it, but I would certainly entertain offers.

No player drafted anywhere is not a risk-less pick. Those players you get to add by trading down? They could all be busts.

You have a much better chance on hitting on a franchise QB by taking the #1 option than taking the fourth.

I would agree with you 100% if QB was the only position on the field holding us back...or even if it was only one of a couple owing to how important a position it is. But the Browns need so many things one or two extra picks would be helpful.

A lot of it boils down to how you rate the QBs and your confidence in determining whether one is better than the other, and is it worth turning down extra picks. And of course, it depends what you are offered. If the Browns were offered an RGIII type of deal, they would be foolish to turn it down. My point here is only that I've seen varying reports on who is the better QB in this draft, and if there is not a lot of difference (especially in the Browns' eyes) they should make a deal and move down.

They may fuck up and take the wrong QB. They are the Browns. But that's not the point. Trading down and settling for someone who isn't your #1 option is dumb. You may be wrong, but IF you think a certain guy is going to be a Super Bowl winning QB, you take him. You don't trade down and pray he falls to you.

What has worked for us? It doesn't matter if you stay put, trade up or down ... You still have to make the right picks.

I actually heard some stat that over 60% of the QB's taken in the top 5 turn out to be franchise guys. You're going to see more Cam Newton's, Andrew Luck's, Peyton Manning's be successful than Russell Wilson/Tom Brady's. I just don't trust any Browns front office to get that pick right later in the draft.

I'm all about value and getting the most bang for your buck but the ONLY way you trade down is if it's 1 or 2 spots and you know your guy is going to be there. The Browns will likely be bad in 2016 but I doubt they are 2015 "bad" so they likely won't be selecting this high for a while. Bite the bullet & take the QB at 2.

It's nice that a good QB could fall to them later in the draft but you want YOUR guy. If Wentz is their guy at #2, you don't trade down to #10, let Dallas take Wentz at #4 and "settle" for Lynch or Goff at #10. That's the whole point of having that #2 pick....so you can select your guy. They can't screw around with this and pull a Mangini.

As stated above, the only way I trade down is if if 1 or two spots AND they still get the guy they orignally want. No need to be cute and play penis flickers by settling for the 2nd choice.

Yep, RG3 is a great example as to why you don't fuck around.
