Driving an hour and 15 minutes to my mom's tonight to help her prep. Driving to my dad's from there tomorrow, which is about 90 minutes. Driving back to my mom's tomorrow evening (another 90 minutes). We do Thanksgiving there on Friday every year.

My fiance drove from Akron to Dayton yesterday, and will drive from Dayton to Millersburg Friday morning.

3.5 hour train ride to NJ tonight. Going to spend time with the gfs parents in NJ and then we will probably go out in NYC on Saturday.

No travel for actual Thanksgiving dinner but I've been on the fence about heading down to Wheeling, WV to take my girlfriend's daughter to see the Christmas lights at Oglebay. If anyone has any experience with this, let me know. I'm not a fan of long "waits" in line to do things so if that's the case, it probably won't happen.

I have one sibling who constantly complains about traveling for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I don't particularly enjoy it, but spending holidays with my family is important to me, so I suck it up and do it.

Like my girl Ellen says, it's the holidays, and we're all in misery.

I'm not. If I was to travel for Turkey day, I'd head to Chicago. Unfortunately I have to work at 4AM Friday.

Have done this before. It was a lot of fun. You go through the park in your car to see the lights. Stay down there overnight it is a good time nice pool and stuff for kids too.

Took the Megabus from NYC to Pittsburgh last night. It went surprisingly smooth, about 8 hours exactly.

5 hour direct flight home to Cleveland to have thanksgiving with my mom.

Direct is the key word here. I didn't buy a direct flight last yr because it was $200 more. Had a stop in Chicago and my flight got canceled. American (the worst) said they couldn't get me on another flight for 3 days. Ended up renting a car and driving the rest of the way SMH. On the way back I was delayed 8 hours in Chicago and missed my company's christmas party and missed public transportation home from the airport. $104 cab ride and walking into my apartment at 2 am later I ended up spending an additional $375 extra and wasted a shit ton of time. /QQtravelStory

We really had no wait. Just went nice and slow and enjoyed the lights. Probably about 20 minutes start to finish and you can go through as many times as you want.

3 miles to my dad's on the other end of town

We hosted for the 15 previous years but letting dad and stepmom do it all.

Growing up we traveled about 50 miles to tiny Carbon Hill to my great grandmas then would come home to my other grandmas around 3:00 and then again at 6:00 to another grandmas....nearly every big holiday

Wife's family is coming to our house for Thanksgiving again this year. It's tough to have that many people in our house. But I get to booze all day and don't have to leave my recliner, so I'm good with it.
