30 members of the team vowed to not play until he resigns. A graduate student started it by going on a Hunger Strike. All due to the Presidents inaction to racial issues.

I think it was the ESPN article, but this is what I got out of all this:

1) Things have gotten increasingly worse since Ferguson. I wonder why that is?

2) Things boiled over during the homecoming parade when black students prevented the President from moving. President wouldn't get out of the car and had police take the kids away. Who would get out of the car in that situation? Regardless of race.

3) I would like to know what the President should have done?

4) Shows the immense power that college athletes can have. Mizzou would have had to pay their opponent this week $1 million if they forfeited.

5) I read a tweet saying that black athletes and entertainers should stop working to throw a wrench into the economy. What I'll say to this is that football and basketball would take a major hit. Nobody is going to want to watch lesser athletes at the NFL price. Entertainment, meh. I think there's enough diversity that not much would be lost overall.

However, I don't think those people are giving up their 7 figure salaries any time soon. I thought it was a dumb tweet/idea.

I've read a couple articles and I can't really find what the black students have to be legitimately angry about. This is the front page ESPN article. Perhaps I'm missing something that wasn't included or it doesn't do them justice:

Edit: By the way, this is what ultimately lead to his stepping down more than anything else:
The Tigers' next game is Saturday against BYU at Arrowhead Stadium, the home of the NFL's Kansas City Chiefs, and canceling it could cost the school more than $1 million.

From what I heard, the crowds were mostly white. Apparently some black students claimed a pick up truck with some white guys drove by and yelled the n word while they were walking so they went after the president.

Everyone deserves their safe space and now that the President is gone people will be able to heal from these atrocities and build a community of inclusion and equality for all.

Probably not at the moment, considering that some dipshit did have to get arrested for posting on social media about planning to "stand his ground" by shooting every black person he sees.

I don't know the entirety of the situation...but I highly doubt that's the only reason lol.

It's only been thrown into the spotlight because their biggest money maker decided to say something. This just shows you the power of college football.

Erasing grades for being uncomfortable, but only non-whites? Is this the future?
