For me it does, I leave my office at 11pm then my girl gets home at midnight so its time to shut the computer down.

I'd guess that all the students are in bed by midnight. That also gets rid of the teachers, since they no longer have students to hook up with on the site. And after that, does it really matter if anyone is still awake?
