I'm looking for a good news app (the yahoo news app has gone to shit with last couple updates) so i thought, "ask the OC." then i thought i wonder what other apps people have that maybe i should try.

SO, what are your current favorite apps? Please provide a quick description of what they do.

My current favorite app is probably netflix. Obviously that's for straight up hardcore gay porn.

if you have Android, I really like GReader Pro....the widgets are nice, but what I really like is you can put a shortcut on your homescreen to a specific feed or group of feeds. Best part is it will auto-download your news for offline reading anywhere from every 30 minutes to 24 hours.

I have a good number of apps I use frequently for different purposes. Hard to pick my favorite. Might be as many as 20 third-party apps I rely on to be productive.

I have twitter and a widget for it on my phone, but never really got into it. Who's entertaining to follow?

Not sure which device you have, but I really like Apple's "News" app. I'm sure there are a million variants, but I'm too lazy to search them. This app just piles all current even news into one app and lets you scroll through and read what you want.

Also, I pretty much use Uber for my transportation.

Waze works great. The first time I downloaded it, I had issues. So I uninstalled it and re-installed the app... and I've never had an issue since. The pros is that it it's a social network platform, so people can post where cops (visible or hidden) are located. And then people can upvote or downvote it. I use it even when I know where the place is. I find that it's traffic updates are real-time and saves me minutes, some cases hours of delay.
