as a big fan of Asian cooking, I have to say I've never had this. Asian marinated meats are wonderful blend of spices... I read that this is grilled sound like a ideal reason for a end of the season cook out. Thank I will try this

I got into Bulgogi while I was in Portland and I ate a food truck called Koi Fushion. It's Korean BBQ done Mexican style. So think Bulgogi burritos with kimchi/rice...etc. Amazing.

One recipe I found uses red pepper paste (kochujang) and red pepper flakes.

The place we get it from gives a scale of 1-5 for how hot you like it. Normally 3 is perfect. A little bit of spice but not overwhelming.

Looking over a few recipes the marniate is a combo of different sugar ( very common in Korean cooking) and garlic, ginder.
Sugar breaks down the meat fibers....... blending the meat with cooking with rice, veg or mushroom is also common.

I see that a red pepper paste or hot oil can be added to kick up the heat and cut some of the sweetness of the meat...

All the recipe strongly suggest a good cut of meat ...

Meats that are marniated in a sugar mixture is alway a tender with additional flavor when grilled
